Me and My Feelings is a good book to help children learn and understand their feelings, emotions, and how to express them in healthy ways. Eye-catching illustrations with easy to read font. The interactive activities will keep the child engaged as they learn. Good for kids, parents, schools, and anyone who interacts with children.
Great for kids that need basic info on emotions! Read this with a 9-year-old client and used it to start some pretty great conversations. Good balance of information and kid-friendly content!
What are the 6 big emotions? Happiness * Surprise * Fear * Sadness * Anger * Disgust
Written for older children who can read well. Whilst there is lots of reading in this book, the writing is broken up with activities and made more appealing with colorful illustrations. Six chapters: My Feelings and Emotions * Feelings and Myself * Feelings and My Mind * Feelings and My Body * Feelings and My Life * What to do when.....
Vanessa, author, is a school counselor. This is a well-written self-help book for kids. I was provided a copy by the publisher. Thanks, Liz
I particularly enjoyed this book and feel it can be adapted and tailored to the grade-level you are teaching. Some of the quizzes would be hard for the younger ones, but more the most part, everyone, even adults, can take away some positive language to use here with children. I plan on using it in my classroom next year
Excellent teaching to help children learn how to handle their sometimes difficult emotions in a socially acceptable way. This book will help kids be more successful in school.
Great book to help kiddos learn how to age appropriately manage feelings. The author, Vanessa, has a lot of great resources and coping skills to navigate some of the more difficult feelings we experience, daily.
i am not sure how KU lumps their books together? but this is for an older elementary kid i would think ... i am not an expert but definitely a kid who is a better reader ... not a lot of pics ...but a few. love the family illustration and u really wanna give the little boy a hug.
This was a helpful book for me (an adult who didn't learn about emotions in childhood). A nice, simple and quick breakdown of some core concepts in emotional regulation.
