In 1956, Enzo Ferrari's son Alfredino died and, in rememberance, Enzo named the Formula 2 V6 engine that he was working on after his son, calling it Dino. From then on, all V6 and V8 Ferrari engines were known as Dinos. There have been many such cars and engines bearing this honorable name. Dinos have powered three World Champions, numerous sports-racing car victories, and even two mountain championships. Four series of road cars have been so successful with their Dino power that they form the bulk of car sales in modern times for Ferrari. Great little Book(I have the newer motorbooks version, white hardcover with dustjacket,small size book) interesting read, I am not a fan of how it's written despite in-depth development of the cars covered and cutaways/drawings included the writing seems dull and is basically a race by race account. I was expecting more in-depth history, this book is a reissue of 1979 with nothing added either. There is a section with great color photos,majority of book is in black and white and some photos are lackluster in quality even for just a simple reissue/reprint. Not Much On Dino himself either. There are some chassis histories, but the book tends to go on and on sometimes without accompanying photos of the action we are reading about. Interesting little sized book nonetheless.
