Message in a Dream

Adventure has been a major part of my life since I was a child growing up in Kansas. I learned to sail at the age of 12 and was educated at Wichita State University. Shortly after college, I was married and began a career in real estate, renovating historical buildings. In 1985, my business boomed and I received several awards from the National Historical Society and city for historical renovations. Our marriage was great until the economy was devastated and crashed after the 1986 Tax Reform Bill passed by Congress. Discouraged by the failing economy in the Midwest in 1988, we had the opportunity of a lifetime to purchase and live aboard a 90-foot, two-masted ship in the Caribbean where we encountered modern-day pirates who tried to steal the Sea Princess twicea] one time at gun point. I was hijacked by four pirates and escaped, getting our ship back both times. We moved back to Kansas in 1991 and my family and friends inspired me to write this modern-day adventure novel based on a true story and tell people how my life was saved by a Message in a Dream. At age 50, I now reside in Kansas City, and continue renovating real estate and seeking new adventures.
