A very well written book. It gives an excellent overview of the life and times of Winston Churchill and the two World Wars.

The book starts out like most Biographies, with Churchill's birth and early childhood and how he struggles with school and his studies. It then goes on to talk about how Churchill joined the British Army near the turn of the century and spent time as a war correspondent during the Boer Wars in South Africa. This book follows Churchill through his life as both a soldier and a politician, giving an accurate recollection of the events in and around World War II and how they finished out. I was then given a good amount of incite on what Churchill did after the war, explaining his last Political positions and what effects they had.

Olivia Coolidge did a great job at bringing me (her reader) into the story while still being informative. She also did a great job of explaining conflicts with Churchill without taking a definite side, she would explain both sides of whatever the dispute was, and then go on to reveal the result. Most books that we have to read for school bore me (pretty common) but I was genuinely interested in this biography. This was because I liked the person (Churchill) and I liked the time period in which he was most known for (World War II). That might have given it an unfair advantage, but I'm sure most people would feel similar to how I feel about this biography.

I gave this book a 4 out of 5 because while I enjoyed it, I'm sure someone else could find this a little boring, as I am pretty biased towards World War II stories. This book is great for anyone who needs to research Churchill for a project or for fun, as it entertains just as much as it informs, especially if you enjoy World War II Stories. Read it Doooooooooooood.
