Two Plays, by Governor General's Award winner James Reaney, brings together his first play and his latest. Gentle Rain Food Co-op (1997) captures Reaney's whimsical insights into both the eccentricities of food co-op patrons and the fanaticism which may lurk on a university campus. One-Man Masque (1958) tackles the big issues of Life and Death in a poetic, minimalist structure.
James Crerar Reaney, OC FRSC was a Canadian poet, playwright, librettist, and professor. Reaney won Canada's highest literary award, the Governor General's Award, three times and received the Governor General's Award for Poetry or Drama for both his poetry and his drama.
