Metaphysics and interconnectedness for the preschool set. It was a nice concept, but I'm not convinced that it was executed particularly well. Also, all I could think of was the beginning of the old kids' show Teletubbies when I saw the cover art. /shrug/
A fave of my own... nearly used it as propaganda...nah! ;) But really, it is part physics, part philosophy and definitely a must have on every parents book shelf! (for your kid's- of course!) A great tool for creating self awareness in children and perhaps- dare I? -- a tool for empathy.
I love this story. It is about our connectedness to everything around us. The illustrations are colorful and sweet. Share this with a child of any age.
“All I See Is Part of Me” is masterfully written by Curtis M. Lewis and illustrated beautifully by Cynthia Aldrich. It is a story simple enough for a toddler to understand and enjoy, but complex enough in meaning to and dept to touch the eldest heart.
A child, who is questioning himself and the big world he lives on, asks the celestial lights for guidance. Sun and Star help him understand that he is part of the same like that touches and emanates from all… from the sun, and stars and even a small boy. He exists in all, and all is present in him. The book’s message is timeless, and inspiring.
My interest in children's books is geared toward the Elementary age since that is the age that I am currently teaching. I like this book but it would be best suited for pre-school children. However, it does fit in well with Montessori Cosmic Education so I might recommend it to a first grader, especially as a book that they could read themselves.
A children’s book about the interconnectedness of everything and everyone. If we could give it to every child and teach them to think this way from the start, our world would be a very different place! I recommend it for readers of all ages.
