A new series of illustrated introductions to the history and techniques of bookmaking. Each title will offer a thorough and accessible historical overview of techniques and processes, illustrated with examples drawn from the Library's outstanding collections, specially commissioned diagrams, and photographs of craftspeople at work. The series will provide the ideal introduction to each area of bookmaking for anyone new to the history of books and how they are made.
