I had higher expectations for the book. To me, not enough focus was given to the actual fighting and subsequent Bataan Death March. Too much focus was given to MacArthur's relationships with leaders and fellow officers. I understand there is a need to explain the people and the politics involved but the author sacrificed too much of the actual fighting as a result.
