Anne Marie Aikins is the author of four highly acclaimed books, three for young people on difficult issues they may face. Anne Marie began her career as a writer and journalist after working in the anti-violence movement for nearly 20 years. She founded a rape crisis centre in the 80s after she was brutally raped at gunpoint. Anne Marie has won numerous national and international awards for her advocacy and writing efforts. Although she still freelances for magazines, she is currently working full-time in communications in Toronto.
