I picked this up years ago from a bookstore display. It's an odd mix - the King James Version of Genesis mixed with R. Crumb as an illustrator. Pulling this up to review on GoodReads, I am the first one to review it . . . which is a shame, because it was really good. If you love the book of Genesis, you will really enjoy this version. It comes to life and its easy to visualize exactly what is happening. If you have struggled reading the book of Genesis, then this is perfect for you too. You will realize what the language is getting at and the depth and richness of the stories here. Genesis is one of my favorite books of the Bible, and really one of my favorite books period. There is a ton of wisdom here, and this is one of the best ways to read it.
One note: this is probably not the version you want to get your kids to read. The illustrator pulls no punches and if you haven't read the book of Genesis in awhile, its rated R.
