I couldn’t finish the book because neither the Kindle nor Kindle App would flip pages past about 80%. I learned a lot about the game and AFL teams and what players do.
Good book! Lots of highlights. One is “Never ridicule mistakes or losses.” Another is “Many midfielders run more than 20 kilometres every match.”
I just got into AFL last year and bought this guide to work out more of the finer details of the rules. The language is fairly ocker - but good natured - and Main's enthusiasm is infectious.
Sadly, a little bit out-dated, now that we have 18 AFL teams instead of 16, but a good starting place to learn more about this quirky football game we Australians have invented.
