Creative Education: Integrating the Arts into the Curriculum for Use With Pre-kin Children

Rate this book
As children learn, their self-esteem, self-worth, and self-love grow. The more we teach them, the more they realize what they can learn and accomplish. Children's dreams need to be encouraged through their learning process. For that reason, it is incredibly important to utilize a wide variety of teaching approaches. These approaches will assist them with self-discovery as well as self-directedness to make those dreams a reality. It is all too familiar, the dreams we once had as children. There was always talk of wanting to be a teacher, fireman, astronaut, or perhaps the president. Through our learning experiences, we discovered the areas in which we excelled and enjoyed the most to make our dreams a reality. This series of books utilizes music, art, movement, drama, storytelling, and poetry to introduce colors, numbers, shapes, and letters to Pre-Kindergarten children. We believe that it is critical to introduce these concepts prior to their attendance in Kindergarten because so much is expected of them before they walk through the door. Learning is a constant aspect of life. The more we can support our children before, during, and after their formal education has begun, the richer their experiences will be. As educators it is our job to help children continue to grow and raise their expectations of themselves so that they can reach their full potential.
