An international debt collector, a professional femme fatale, an English widow. Five severed heads found floating in the English Channel, another on a French beach. The brutal murder of a Mancunian gangster. A shadowy organisation who nobody knows the name or or their reason d'etre. How are they all connected? That is what the French and British law enforcement have to find out if they're to prevent a potentially world changing crime.
Conflicted about this book! Absolutely cracking story, really twists and turns, graphic but absolutely addictive. I HAD to know what was going to happen next.
100% would benefit from a better proof-reader/editor though, as some of the mistakes are really jarring.
This fantastic thriller was addictive from the start. At times it was a real struggle to put this page turner down. The intricate and unpredictable twists and turns kept me hooked until the end.
Should you hold puritanical views about sex and self indulgence then please avoid this book.
The sexual content is an intrinsic part of the plot as are the powerful female characters that keep you totally absorbed until the very last page.
Loved the story which was part police procedural part thriller. There was some graphic details and some explicit sex scenes which couple some readers. I was disappointed by the amount of spelling and punctuation errors - as a teacher I find these errors hard to ignore! Excellent fast paced story though a little confusing at the start as many different characters are introduced and you do not know how they are connected. Also a bit peeved that the book doesn’t really end - there is a sequel!!!

I struggled with this book. It was quite slow going and when things finally started moving there were too many different POV’s involved. I also found some scenes unnecessary and frustrating and found they didn’t really add to the narrative. Some of the characters were brilliantly written but some were just reduced down to one thing despite the character building. Also frustrated that the story didn’t really progress and there’s a sequel which I don’t think I will be reading.
I read about 100 pages and had to stop. It's littered with punctuation and spelling errors, almost every other sentence. Speech marks in the wrong place or not at all, commas in the wrong place, words misspelled. It clearly wasn't proofread by anyone and it made it such a struggle to read. It's a shame as the actual story itself didn't seem to be that bad and the writer himself seems a nice bloke when we met him, but I couldn't deal with the grammar and it ruined the experience.
I finished this book as it kept me wanting to know what happened in the end. But I didn’t really like it. There are many errors and grammatical mistakes in the first part of the book which is baffling. I really didn’t like the women’s sexual experiences - written by a man, extremely uncomfortable and odd. The whole story was around a very dark side of humanity - one that needs exposes but no sorry I just did not really like this book.
