Lord Varrick is the Legendary Highlander who has well-earned the myth centered around him. He is known for his endless victories in battle, his fearless skill as a warrior, and his soulless nature. He rules over a heavily forested area in the north and rumors spread that he commands an army of the dead and that no one passes through his land without his permission, or they chance battling his ethereal warriors. Truth or tale? No one knows and no one takes the chance of finding out.
Fia is a healer from a long line of healers. She is eager to learn all she can so she can help the ill, though more importantly prevent illness if possible. Her grandmother warned her to be careful that there were those who would misjudge her and threaten her life. A fair warning indeed, for she has met such a fate and is now in the hands of the legendary Highlander. But not the way she thought she would be… she is forced to wed him.
Lord Varrick refuses to tell her what he wants with her, and she fears that once he has what he wants her fate will be sealed, and he will see her dead, ending their marriage and being rid of her. How to prevent such a fate is the challenge she faces. He does not hold her prisoner but has warned her of the consequences if she should run from him and it is not something she wishes to chance.
When she learns what she is there for, she uses all her skills and learned knowledge to succeed and win her freedom. But is it freedom she truly wants from the Legendary Highlander? Or has she seen in him something that no one else can see… that he is a man who desperately needs to know love.
As danger lurks at every turn and hidden secrets are revealed, Fia must navigate a treacherous path to save not only herself but to help the enigmatic Lord Varrick unlock his heart and learn to love.
Note: While this trilogy does not need to be read in sequence, each book a standalone, Fia and other characters from Highland Myth Trilogy were first introduced in Highland Secrets A Cree & Dawn Novel… a prelude of sorts to their individual stories.
Definitely the best book of this series, that's for sure, and a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy as a whole!
Here we have Fia's romance with Varrick, the Legendary Highlander, and it definitely starts from a rough place, whew! As with where we left Fia off, everyone thinks her a witch, and Varrick in particular needs that to be true, as he's been facing his own problems with his clan that only a witch can help him to resolve. Except that, of course, Fia's not a witch, and there's only so many times she can try proving that for Varrick to believe her. Granted, the two do fall in love, so that's made easier, but everyone else's distrust DOES linger for a while, so that's a constant thing.
All in all, not much to say about this except that I loved Varrick and Fia's relationship; and, unlike in the first book of this series where the hero distrusts the heroine for way too long, Varrick's trust does remain once he realizes that he loves Fia, and the two of them battle it out against the villains to win in the end.
A great and relaxing book to re-read in the future, to be sure!
The Legendary Highlander by Donna Fletcher is book Three in the Highland Myths Trilogy. This is the story of Varrick and Fia. Varrick is looking for someone to help him with the troubles he is having with the God of Death that seems to be attacking his clan.. This leads him to Fia who is being held in a prison being accused of being a witch. Fia has only every lived in the woods with her family learning to heal. But now she is alone and being accused of witchcraft. Varrick has to marry her to be able to taker her with him. Varrick does so know that it won't be a real marriage but along they things change. So enjoyed this book. I highly recommend Ms. Fletcher's writing.
I'd been eagerly awaiting the release of the third book in Donna Fletcher's Highland Myths Trilogy and let me tell you I was not in one bit disappointed.. Okay, well maybe just a smidge disappointed that it wasn't longer... But I can live with that because it was a really good read. I fell in love with Fia's character when she was introduced in Highland Secrets, one of her Cree and Dawn books, (all of which I highly recommend by the way) and I couldn't wait to see her story progress along with Varrick, The Legendary Highlander. Fia is a wise and caring healer, with a generous heart and a vast curiosity, one who has a gift, a knowing. And what people don't understand, they hate and they fear, which is why she is branded as evil, as a witch. But a mighty and legendary warrior who has lived through hell has no fear of evil or witches, but he has a use for them. The God of Death has been stalking his lands and clan and what better weapon to fight evil than a witch that he commands? But there's one thing g he doesn't take into account since it's something he's never known.. Love. It really is a great story, there's action and suspense, a hot alpha highlander, romance, a few steamy bits and a touch or two of the paranormal. It's a great ending to another fantastic trilogy by Donna Fletcher.
Chieftain Newlin of Clan Strathearn needed to make sure that his clan was safe from Fia, a healer they have accused to be a witch. To do so, he had placed an ultimatum of sorts to the Legendary Highlander, Varrick, to wed Fia if he was to take her away from Clan Strathearn without punishment. In great need of a witch, Varrick agreed to the demand and left Clan Strathearn wedded to Fia.
Their journey to find love with each other was not easy, as doubt, fear and an unexpected adversary has come to test them. But little by little, Varrick and Fia's love slowly blossomed and the truth about the clan's curse was finally revealed.
The last book of the Highland Myths Trilogy took me on a very different path than what I was expecting. It was full of adventure, mystery, and discovery with a little hint of the supernatural.
I love every moment of the story. Every chapter was a cliffhanger making me want to read what would happen next. Donna took a different approach in writing this and I really loved it. I loved the supernatural aspect and the big reveal at the end.
Both Fia and Varrick were a refreshing pair as their journey to love was not an easy one. From doubt and fear, it slowly turned into trust and understanding. They have slowly relied on each other for answers to the mystery that befell Varrick's clan. I love how their progress was slow and steady with each learning something new with the other.
This was a great ending to the Trilogy. My only regret was that the other characters that were introduced in previous books were only mentioned and did not actually have a scene in the book. It would have been great to see Tavia or Flora again. But aside from that, I love everything about it. From the moment they met to the end. Donna Fletcher did an amazing job in putting everything together. I can't wait for more.

The Legendary Highlander by Donna Fletcher Highland Myth Series Book Three Lord Varrick needs the witch that another clan has imprisoned. He lost his soul long ago and feared nothing. But something unseen is tormenting his clan, and he’ll do what’s needed. So Varrick agrees when Chieftain Newlin requires that he marry the witch so she’ll never return to take vengeance on them. It won’t be a real marriage, after all. Fia will be glad to get out of the dungeon. She spent her life in the woods, in the cabin where her mum and grandmother loved her…both gone now. The unknown was if her life would be worse with the legendary Highlander than in the dungeon. So much like real life, people love Fia when she’s healing them but turn on her quickly when people want to kill the witch. They wouldn’t understand she was a healer, not a witch. Page-turning story with a surprise ending. https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
This was a brilliant end to the highland myths series. Lord Varrick is the Legendary Highlander who has well-earned the myth centered around him. He is known for his endless victories in battle, his fearless skill as a warrior, and his soulless nature. In a bid to save his clan he is in search of a witch.
Fia, is a gentle and gifted healer from a long line. The locals have branded her a witch. In a bid to get rid of her and keep his people safe, Her clan chief makes a deal with the legendary highlander Lord Varrick to marry her.
I really enjoyed this book the characters are so well written and the chemistry between them works really well. I will definitely be reading some of the authors other series as I believe some of the character make other appearances. A brilliant series full of romance and a little bit of magic.
Set in the Scottish Highlands The Legendary Highlander is a beautiful romance with an evil person trying to destroy our hero and his home. When Lord Varrick goes in search of a woman he thinks can help destroy the evil that is attacking his home he definitely gets more than he bargained for. Fia is a beautiful, extremely wise healer with a kind heart. She has been accused of being a witch so there are evil people trying to destroy her as well. When Varrick ad Fia come together they are a force that can’t be broken and theirs is a love for all time. I highly recommend this story with a lovely as well sexy romance with a bit of a mystery thrown in and a wonderful twist at the end. I loved it!
This was a great end to the series. Legendary Highlander, Varrick needs help to rid his clan of the God of Death. His solution is to bring a witch, Fia, home to help them. Her uncle says Varrick can only take her if he weds her. Since Varrick plans to get rid of her once her job is done, he agrees to the marriage. Soon they realize there is more to their marriage than that and more to the problems that plague Varrick’s clan. But with Varrick’s clan believing Fia is a witch that has taken him under her spell with the intent of bringing more harm to them, things get complicated. Interesting story with some twists, great characters, and sweet romance.
This book is beyond great. It is riddled with excitement, supernatural occurrence, a love that is awesome and well developed characters. The supernatural occurrence will keep you on the edge of your seat. The is fast moving and you will be tempted to try to read this book in one day because you will be totally involved with the characters. I tried but it took me two days to complete it. The characters are well developed, good will conquer evil, and the lovemaking is off the charts. Overall this book is outstanding and if you select it you will not be disappointed.
FIA a great healer and knowledge seeker is accused of being a witch and awaiting her fate with the Legendary Highlander Varrick. Upon Varrick arrival he is asked to marry FIA to assure that the witch doesn't exact revenge on the Clan who holds her, since Varrick never intends to release FIA he agrees but this angers and scares his Clan. Now Varrick must keep FIA safe in order for her to banish the God or Ghost of his Clan with her Witch ways and also from his Clan that wants to burn her on the stake, which is a promise he himself has made. Fate and Love have alot of work to do!
I love all of Donna Fletcher's books. You find out the mystery at the same time the main character does. It makes you feel you are in the story. This story had a lot of mystery and romance. I loved both characters. Fia is strong even when she should be afraid. He doesn't pass judgement to fast and watches her. I loved the ending. I won't tell the ending because you have got to read the book!
I loved Varrick and Fia as a couple. They were so good together from beginning to end. The story line was captivating and kept me turning pages all the way through the story. Great job Donna. They were as compelling together as Cree and Dawn. Thanks for another wonderful book.
Donna you out did yourself with this one I loved it. The mystery the romance and love was just perfect. I haven't enjoyed a book so much since Cree and dawns stories was just fantastic. I never tell what the story is because one should read it themselves I don't want to ruin the experience but trust me it was good.
All of three, this one is much better. That's because the heroine was sweet, wise and reasonable. When her husband said something, she often obey and listen. I also feel sorry for her being condemned a witch since the beginning and imprisoned. Lucky she has a man that powerful and love her so much.
This BOOK!!!! I have been eagerly awaiting this release and it did not disappoint. This book had me questioning every character within! Loved the thrill and of course the romance is not to be missed! Wonderful wrap up for this series and I can't wait to see what Donna has in store for her next book!
Once again Donna Fletcher has written a great book. I particularly like this book of the series. I enjoy the steam and the banter between the two characters. There was drama, suspense, romance and lots of steam. I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys Highlander romances. Keep up the good work Donna.
I love a lot of Donna Fletcher’s books, but in all honesty it was one of the silliest books of hers I have ever read. Not silly in humor it did have some of that but silly in superstition. It was awful in that way. Way too far fetched. And as usual way to sexual. Skipped a lot of pages.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on the 3rd book in the series and read Varrick and Fia's love story. The Warlord and the Witch and loved the mystery surrounding the God of Death and the Monks. Donna is such a great a great story teller. She never dissapoints. Can't wait for the next book, they never disappoint
I wasted my time reading this book. Not much too the story except accusing the h for being a witch. And the H was disappointing as well - he's supposed to be "legendary " in fighting etc but it doesn't have any battle scenes and you're stuck with another confused H wondering if she's a witch or not.
As usual the story did not disappoint. All three books were amazing. This one was something I did not expected with the lord of death and his wife. It was a fitting ending.
Good storyline, wonderful characters, and lots of insight into-peoples fears. It was interesting, fun and warm. I enjoyed it immensely and recommend it !
Such a great story and romance, healing and a forever love. I loved Fia and Lord Varrick from the start, totally invested in their journey, meant to be.
Great mystery, thrills, and anticipation in this story. I was trying to figure out who the culprit was , thought I had it , but in the end I wasn't close.
