Straightforward, succinct, and uncomplicated 4-8 page accounts of the major saints of the English Reformation. This is what I was looking for at the time, but it has left me wanting more detail. The format is biographical and very high-level, but includes most of the important details. A good Reader's Digest version of the 40 Martyrs.

Pretty good book on the subject, although it's far from scholarly (no citations etc). The author's opposition to Vatican 2 is also quite apparent. Nevertheless, a good window into a forgotten period of English history.
