It’s been seventy years since magic returned and the gates to the Fae lands re-opened. The Fae were both awe-inspiring and yet surprisingly relatable. Fast forward to today and your barista is just as likely to be a brownie as a human. Fae and Humanity, weaving the stories of their lives together in our modern world.

Sometimes those stories get downright murderous. Especially when magic gets involved.

Detective John Miller, an Empath working for Harrisburg’s Magic Resource Unit, knows all too well how deadly things can get. So when an investigation into an otherwise ordinary dead guy reveals a twist of magic, it’s only a matter of time before the story grows to become something far more dangerous than it first appears.

Can Miller catch the killer before the body count rises?

A version of this story was previously published under the name Doug Parker, and appeared in ‘Summer Solstice An Urban Fantasy Anthology’.
