This is fourth in an isekai series that builds over time. Read them in order.

You know what you're getting. A little too much. Since I caught up to publication in February, I came at this one nearly four months after finishing the third. Which doesn't seem like it should be that long, but my memory is, well, not great. So I have to admit that I glazed on at least half of the characters bouncing around this story. At this point, Nate has pulled in dozens of people into his care circle. And no, that isn't an exaggeration. He adds another nine in this story! And that's not even counting Milia's family we finally meet in the end.

Not remembering all the side characters is only the first problem though. With so many, I felt like we get less of the truly outstanding interactions. Cheetara-Cutie and Best Boy Woofie are favorites and barely present in this story.

And then I lost patience with all the Peace Spawner intrusions. That villain is just annoying. Evil for its own sake is kind of boring and having him pop up like popcorn just randomly to put on his Snidely Whiplash act just makes me tired.

Anyway, I like Nate and Milia still so I was entertained. But it's more at the three-star level and with enough fizzle that I'm unlikely to care about picking up the next.

A note about Chaste: While they do finally get married at the very, very end and mention is made of finding clothes after, there's nothing explicit on-page. So this is still very chaste despite them sleeping in proximity throughout. Yes, that's still as unnatural as it has ever been, but hey, the author maintains the conceit (don't say rigidly), um, firmly strongly so I'll roll with it.

Solid addition.

This finishes certain parts while leaving room for change. It allows for a new arc that could go in several directions. All in all, a wonderful cap to a solid story arc.

I just can't muster any more interest for this series. The accumulation of random characters and random events, sub plots that add nothing and go nowhere all over the place, main plots getting pushed interminably away. I'm out.

AUDIO: 5 Stars -These 2 narrators are amazing! There are TONS of characters, and they are voiced incredibly, specially the male narrator.

STORY:This book still has the same issues as book 3. But the story was better.

STAT SCREENS: By this point the reader KNOWS the existing "screens". Therefore, getting a bit tired by the "copy/paste" full reading of stats screens rather than focusing on the specific entry/feature/task which is going to be upgraded or is new. I do understand that sometimes reading the "full" screen is necessary but not EVERY time. This makes the book unnecessarily long and convoluted.

NEW CHARACTERS: I do get the introduction of new characters, but the 'real" interaction and getting to love them is lost, since there are so many, there is no real development on their relationship and personality. Please add more Cheetara-Cutie and Best Boy Woofie! They are my favorites and barely have any action since they need to compete with 300 other characters. The Peace Spawner character also needs some work, he is supposed to be this all powerful character but makes ridiculous appearances when someone calls his name, like beetlejuice, instead of going after actual powerful contenders. Maybe it will also introduce some LGTBQ+ characters, you know, equality!

POLITICS: The "political" parts are getting to be too much, at least for my taste since I wanted an Alchemist/Potion Master story, and not a political/religious story. In addition, Can someone kill the princes already?!?! She is such a useless character.

SENSE: I know that they decided to be in the open, but why did they have a full conversation in front of the princess and start using their real names? I did not get that. Can someone explain?

I will continue the series as it is actually entertaining and fun. Hopefully, the following books do focus on potion making, alchemy, dungeon plunging and their own town growth, more slice of life vibe instead of politics/religious intrigue. Onto my next adventure, Happy Readings!!!!

peace spawner rise of the cheat potion maker gets five stars

This is one of my most favorite series and it deserves five stars. I am going to tell you why. First of all the MC Nate is a likable but reluctant hero, he is not a meat shield. There’s plenty of character, progression, a lot of heartwarming scenes, and a lot of slice of life in this book. The characters are well developed. Even the side characters have points of view that the author brings out in the book. So you don’t think that they are just static. They also have their drives and motivations and fears and hopes. There are a lot of story threads that need to be developed, the MC himself has a long ladder to climb on the progression mountain. The MC and his party have only traveled a small bit in this large world. There are more places to go more things to see and more to do. I hope the author if he continues his series will expand on these areas. there could be a bit more action and less stacked padding for pages but I believe the story and the characters on a hole, as well as the intrigue, make this a five star book. now, unfortunately, I have to wait for the next book in the series, by the way, this is one of my top four series I even put it before defiance of the fall, and he who fights with monsters. for these reasons I have listed. I just love this series, give it a shot you will not be disappointed.

This is a great series!

I like how the MC views himself, his loved ones, and finally, all of the consequences, both good & and bad, that result from his choices. Having a good romantic subplot that's monogamous is fun to read, too. Do not get me wrong. I love a well written harem romantic subplot as well, but I dislike stories where the MC has zero romantic thoughts. That immediately slices out any type of an MC being well rounded, in my opinion (which I know isn't everybody else's). Trying to read a novel where a powerful MC has no time for love but chases immortality is just tough to read. Great job, Mr. Atwater this storyline is just as good if not better the "The Anime Trope System" series.

Rise of the Cheat Potion Maker: 4
Nate continues to grow more powerful, despite his aim to live a quiet life. He levels up like crazy in this book. There's even a time compression to speed things up and explain his insane progress. To add to the ridiculousness, it seems Nate earns system rewards just for doing things he was going to do anyway. At any rate, it's all roses and rainbows for the Nate and his party. It seems like the author got tired of his main character's reluctance for power and finally gave Nate a kick in the pants to get moving by having his loved ones threatened, inspiring Nate to grow stronger, become more ruthless, and tend towards violence. Still a good story, but Nate's character changes quite a bit from the earlier books.

I am liking this series more and more. I am not a huge light novel fan. I started this book like I started all the others in the series. A little standoffish. I liked the previous books, but I didn't love them. With each book I am wondering if I should continue the series and then by the end, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. That happened with this one as well. The first 3-4 hours of the audiobook I was thinking it was okay, but nothing special. As things went on it got more and more interesting. I remember feeling the same way with each of the books in the series. I am really looking forward to the next one.

My Rating System:
5- Perfect for my taste, I could not physically stop reading/listening and wanted more afterward.
4- Almost perfect, could not stop reading/listening, probably wanted more afterward.
3- I enjoyed the book and could see others loving it, I need to think if I want more.
2- I can see why others might like the book, but I could not, I do not want more.
1- What is this? What went wrong? Why did they do this? This doesn't make any sense! (No idea who it is for, but definitely not for me).

Fun time

Great story and fun read , good action defying expectations and fighting to live normally , Nate just wants to run a potion shop and hang out with his new family and disciples , he wants to learn alchemy and making new potions ,unfortunately life keeps coming and he must fight to protect what he loves and enjoys , he makes new friends and get treasures and learns alot of lessons , if he wants normal , he's gotta step up , it's got funny and different in spades and it's a story you'll truly like , give it a shot and you won't regret it

An explosion of progress.

Even with massive battles, Nate and his growing adopted clan have a wholesome adventure. Nate has responsibility kind of forced in his face. It's easy to refuse involvement until things directly affect you. I'm extremely curious about the parents, and I'm curious what Aline has next. Will they be involved? Biting my nails in anticipation for the next book.

Very good book

This is listed as a light novel but be warned it's much longer than most ,>350 pages long , (ie you will find yourself reading into the wee hours of night.) This is the first 5 star rating I have given out. Just loved the authors' sense of humor messing with his MC's progression. Looking forward to the next book. Note to others, not harem or porn driven story line.

Exactly what I was hoping for

Nate is coming into his own, and we finally get some more information about Ares and why Nate was brought from Earth. Is Nate’s father from Earth, or from another world/dimension? I like that Nate has finally realized that he won’t be left alone, on this world, but he can still choose how he develops without giving into the System’s machinations.

a Good read likeable characters

The story is one I enjoy as well as the characters, it has good vibe to me, is a bit like a root of interest that entwines your imagination into the story line and characters. Unfortunately I am at the end of this book and now await the next one. This is always troubling for a reader, as we angst the next one coming out. Thanks for the good read.

Fantastic!

This series in a unique twist on the genre and it’s super enjoyable to read. There are parts where you literally want to laugh out loud, but then those scenes are balanced by a well thought out and we’ll rounded protagonist. I’m eager for the next book and interested in anything else the author will publish.

New to Anime stories and really enjoyed these books!

I have read a few Anime series and I really appreciate that this one wasn’t all about the sex and harems! Fun read, plenty of action, enough intrigue to keep you guessing and the right amount of romance. If this sounds good to you give it a read!

Still good,

Enjoyed the book. Odd way of keeping the story balanced, but the with how deep this story is going, I am amazed the author has not fallen in like too many others do.

I die submit the very few errors I found to Kindle though.

Kept the 5 star rating as I didn't feel like I was having to play editor as I have to do in too many books now a days.

The best book so far!

Of all the book, this is the best so far! We finally got a training montage! Plus the wedding. Each of the books is better than the previous one, and this is no exception. This book series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. This makes me excited for the next book in the series.

This has turned up to be a great series to read. Nate the potion maker is finally reaching a couple limits. Marriage as his Mother in Law is coming to town. As a Potion Maker because he needs to branch out a bit to continue his growth. But he must face the Peace Spawner and this is finally the last point of growth will he take it.

When is the next book??

Good read. Everyone is working on their crafting skills. There is also a long journey that allows us to see more of the kingdom. We meet many new and interesting people. The town and shop grow. The direction of the book and the end make me excited to read the next entry!
