The basic of this book is using 3 over the counter topical creams together for 6 weeks to get rid of acne. Salicylic acid, glycolic acid, then benzoyl peroxide. (all in diluted forms available at any drugstore)
It explains why these 3 work together, and why they don't work when not used in conjunction with each other. If you are desperate to find another way to treat your acne, you may find this information help you understand the complexity of acne, and why it won't go away. It does talk about diet, nutrition and the importance of vitamins as well.

I wanted to let anyone with acne know about a book called, "The Acne Cure: The Nonprescription Plan That Shows Dramatic Results in as Little as 24 Hours." http://www.amazon.com/Acne-Cure-Nonpr... Following the plan has given me great results. One of the surprising things in the book is using ice to get the benzoil peroxide into the pores and help get rid of the inflammation and blemishes. It really works!

I've also found better prices for the 10% Glycolic Acid. Instead of the $30 you see most places I found some for about $9.99 I did a blog about the products and where to get them here: http://tinyurl.com/6dln93h

The "cure" suggested in this book looks promising. Most of it is treatments I've seen before, from reputable sources, persuasively adds a few more, and gives some novel ways of applying them. It boldly claims it will completely cure 95% of cases in 6 weeks. I'm skeptical, but I'd be happy if I could just find a cheaper form of maintenance. I'm going to try what this book suggests, and depending on the results, update my rating of this book accordingly.

UPDATE: I tried this book's "cure" and was disappointed. I had to start the prescription approach all over again. It took me months to get clear again. There is no cure for acne, only treatment.
