Omgosh…the story between Cori & Hunter is easily one of my favorites, hands down! I read this story until my eyes felt like they were bleeding because I had to know what happened next. The chemistry between these two is hot and full of so much emotion. L. Hope has done such an amazing job at conveying their struggles and the passion between them that it left me wanting to read more about them! Not only that, she ended book #4 in the best way possible that I am just DYING to know how it all unfolds! By far, this is one of my favorite series and one of my favorite books within this series!!!

I will never get enough of The Notorious Five and their women! This story takes you into the dark sides of life, the struggles with addiction, and the decisions one has to make between love and what is believed to be the right path. This interconnected series shows you different points of view of the same event timeline. The story is filled with tension, steamy romance, and fantastic characters. I highly recommend this whole series every book delivers and keeps the reader enthralled in this criminal family.

Another great one by L. Hope!
I liked Tainted Encounters even more than I did Delicate Consequences.
Hunter and Cori’s story was especially touching, they were so wrong for each other in all the right ways. Their back and forth, though infuriating at times, was funny and sweet.
There were moments where I did want to strangle Hunter for his terrible decision-making skills but characters aren’t supposed to be perfect. It was a great read, seeing their relationship grow despite the odds and their pasts.
Ends on a cliffy, can’t wait for book 5!

This is my first book by L. Hope! This is fourth book in the series, however, you can read this as a standalone. This is a Mafia Romance, with opposite attracts. This story is so complex with so many different storylines and connected characters I loved everything about this book! I absolutely love Cori and Hunter.

Another fabulous book!
This book was so well written! I've loved the entire series and I swear each book surprises the crap out of me! I love the intricate layering of the story, each book revealing more of the story you've read from other points of view. Absolutely masterful!

While this is book four in the series, you can read this as a standalone, but I suggest going back and starting from book one.
Where do I start? Throughout this book, I have wavered between wanting to strangle Hunter and hug the man. The same thing goes for Cori. Like the other books, each character's backstory will pull at your heartstrings. Watching the big, strong, don't-need-anyone, Mafia man Hunter be brought to his knees was spectacular. His cheesy pickup lines had me laughing and giving me butterflies all at the same time. The one thing that stands out the most in all these books is that the female MCs are just as strong as the men and take no crap off of them, which I love.
What I love the most about this series is that at the forefront they are love stories with a sprinkling of Mafia throughout the story. You don't miss anything if you haven't read the first three books, but you get just enough backstory that you want to go back and read them books, hence my suggestion of going back to book one.

Tainted Encounters is book four in the Notorious Five Series. Before going into this book I knew Hunter was going to be a favourite of mine, and he did not disappoint.
Hunter is a super caring guy, but he has a traumatic past. He blames himself for his mother unaliving herself due to his fathers abuse. He lives with this blame everyday. This explains why he seems to be one of the major protectors of all the female characters in the series. Hunter is also a very determined guy. He refuses to take no for an answer, even to the point of annoying someone. But he doesn't really every do anything wrong. He does make some bad decisions, but that's only when he's hit rock bottom. He still loves fully and cares deeply.
Cori has a very troubling past. As a doctor, she is a caregiver and takes responsibility for a lot of people. Because she cares for others first, she doesn't really know her place in the world or what she truly wants. I feel she really needed to work on her wants and needs throughout this story. She needed to actually live a little and see what was most important in her life. There was a lot of character development with Cori as she finally seemed to embrace who she was and what she wanted.
These two were really great together. Yes, they had some bad moments, but overall they were perfect together. They both had caring and nurturing qualities and they worked off each other to care for the other. They were there during each others times of need, protecting the other in the way they knew how to. The ending does set you up for the next book in the series and I cannot wait to read it.

I have said this before but I will say it again after this book L. Hope is hands down my favorite author of Mafia books. I have never been a big fan of them until I got hooked on this series and honestly each one just gets better and better and with how amazing they each are that is saying a lot.
Cori is a Doctor who spends her life taking care of others. At work, with her friends and most importantly her brother. Through taking care of everyone she lives with secrets from her past that keep her from ever fully moving forward and being truly happy.
Hunter is part of the Notorious five and has never had to work for women. He gets what he wants, when he wants it and with who. When Cori comes along and doesn’t immediately give in to his desires he is determined to get her to break. Once she does hold on because these two are FREAKING HOT together! Through this he finally realizes he is capable of needing and wanting more with a woman. He definitely makes some mistakes along the way and I love how hard Cori makes him work for her forgiveness. Thankfully he is persistent and never gives up on her.
This story is so complex with so many different storylines and connected characters I loved every bit of it. I absolutely love how Cori softened Hunter and seeing what he is willing to sacrifice for her. They were incredibly hot together! I was half a soul until I found Hunter and I’ve finally found the one person to complete me.
I love it when I'm reading a series, and I fall harder for the new MMC than I did for the previous one. Hunter has definitely become my favorite of The Five, for now...
From the interactions we had with Hunter in the previous books, I knew his story was going to be a fun one, but this story was so much more than what I expected. Hunter is your typical 'hit it and quit it' playboy until he meets doctor Miller. Cori is a British doctor with a dark past who moved to New York looking for a better life for herself and her brother. I loved the way that Cori made Hunter work for it and didn't immediately give in to her attraction. The flirty banter between the couple, but also they way they connected on a much deeper level, was top notch.
Once again, Sophie did an excellent job at connecting the timelines of the previous books. Also, it's been a while since I've read a book with third-act breakup, and the way that was done in this story was definitely different, and I enjoyed every second of it. Cori had her head on straight, she knew what she wanted and she didn't give in until she got it, and also the way that Hunter was willing to literally give up everything for her is not something you usually see in mafia romances.

Best of the series so far!
Let me start out by saying that I had high expectations for this book. I’ve been obsessed with Hunter since book one, so I couldn’t wait to finally read his story- and not only were my expectations met, but they were completely blown out of the water with this book.
Hunter is my favorite book boyfriend. His cocky smirks, his cheesy lines, his fierce protectiveness… SWOON. I wasn’t sure what type of girl he’d wind up with, but I can’t imagine a better fit than Cori. Her background is heartbreaking, but the girl has no quit in her. I adored her sassiness and she was the perfect fit for Hunter. The chemistry between the two of them had me in a chokehold! The tension leapt off the pages and I was rooting so hard for them all the way through.
The way this author weaves the overlapping timeline into the books of the series is masterfully seamless, and I love getting different perspectives of familiar events. It’s like stopping in to see old friends and makes me want to go back to read the other books again and again! I’m now dying for the epic conclusion of this series with Ryder’s story, and I know it won’t disappoint!

Mixed feelings 😐
I wasn't sure what to expect when I first read this book, the synopsis sounded really interesting so I decided to go a head and give it a shot. There were parts I really enjoyed, but there were others that I wasn't fond of. I loved that the MMC was willing to do anything to prove his love for the FMC and the fact that he never cheated on her. However, I didn't like that Hunter (MMC) was so close to his friend's girlfriend even though they knew each other for a long time. It didn't sit well with me. How he would always allowed her to hug him and lay her head on his shoulder even though he was supposedly in love with Cori (FMC). I liked the fact that Cori was a strong and independent woman, but I didn't like that she easily accepted that Hunter was having sex with other women. It was before they were together, but still she should have confronted him about it. I was very upset that Cori cheated on Hunter even though they we're separated at the time, but for someone who supposedly is in love and then cheats on them. That was totally messed up 🙁 Since the book ended with a cliffhanger I might go ahead and read Ryder's story. I'm not sure yet, but Ryder is one of Hunter's closes friends.

Loved, Loved, Loved Hunter but Wanted to Throttle Cori at Times!
Hunter’s book starts back before previous books end. It looks at some of the critical situations we read about previously from his perspective and in my opinion, this was brilliant as it added so much to world building. Cori is a doctor that worked on Trigger when he was shot and and there is instant chemistry. Cori has a significant trauma history and has many layers to her. Hunter too is much more complex that I thought him to be from the previous books. Together, they work with one another to peel back those layers. Where I get upset is that Cori was not as understanding as she wanted Hunter to be of her and because Hunter is my newest book boyfriend, I became defensive of him. They were able to work things out and Hunter got his HEA!
This book is full of storyline, great characters and lots of spicy hot scenes! It does end with a small cliff hanger and now I am waiting not so patiently for Ryder’s book!

I am absolutely all in for bad boys turning into whipped loveable guys IDK how many books I read, this trope will NEVER be boring to me.
And just like The previous big bad mafia men, Hunter is no exception, and he might even be my favorite (yes, I am also aware that I said that for Axel and Max too but now really)
The plot is great, there are twists and turns you would never guess. I have made so many wrong assumptions, and it was amazing to read the comments on inkitt how none of us saw certain things coming.
Cori is a wonderful, smart, strong female lead, that takes none of Hunter's sh*t and that is something I personally always seek out in books, I am not one for pushover characters.
As mafia books go, The Notorious Five series and its characters is something i got really attached to.
Can't wait for Ryder's book!

This is the 4th book in " The Notorious Five Series." You can read this book as a standalong, but i suggest, You read this series, from the beginning, to get to know these characters, and why they are the Notorious Five. I couldn't put this book down. I 💓 this book. This is my favorite, so far. 💓 this author, she's one , of my favorites. 💓 Cora and Hunter.

This new installment in the Notorious Five series was such a good read!
It picked up after Axel is shot in book one when Hunter meets Cori who is assigned as Axel’s surgeon.
Hunter is such a playboy who has never had a desire to settle down and can’t understand what he’s feeling for Cori.
Cori is a recovering drug addict who doesn’t have time for men like Hunter but he weasels his way into her life and they fall hard and fast until Hunter pushes her away.
These two don’t make it easy on themselves but it was so fun to read and try and come up with theories about how the series is going to wrap up.
The cliffhanger certainly grabs the readers attention and leaves them on edge for the final book! I can’t wait to see the final Notorious Five man find his happy ending!

Wow! L. Hope has done it again!!! Since starting the Notorious Five series I have been hooked. Each romance is unique but shares a come thread of intensity, intrigue and irresistibly steamy moments.
Hunter and Cori’s story leaves nothing to be desired. He is effortless charming and finds ways to be vulnerable and supportive. While she is intelligent, strong and a beckon of light when life tries to hold you back.
I fell in love all over again with these characters and this captivating world L. Hope has woven! I cannot wait to read Ryders story and continue this journey.

This is cori and hunters story.

This book as it all. If you read the other 3 books, this one goes back to some of the characters and what happened in conversations. This book is about Hunter and the doctor he falls in love with. But be aware that they go through a lot of heartache, and I mean a lot. He is in to drugs as in dealer and she is a recovering addict. That is there big thing that tears them apart. But you need to read to see what happens in the end. I really enjoyed this book and the ending, now I need the last book of the five.

hunter and his dr miller
Book 4 of the notorious 5 had me hooked from page one! Dr miller(Cori) is the dr handling axels injuries from being shot and that’s is when she first lays eyes on hunter. He’s smitten from day one but she makes him work extra hard for it. She has her own dark past she is trying to get over and it leads to some heartbreaking moments. We get to see all of what happened in the first 3 books from his point of view and really get to know him and how his past made him the man he is today

We get to see all of what happened in the first 3 books from his point of view and really get to know him and how his past made him the man he is today

Every time I read the next book in this series it becomes my favourite and this one is no exception! I absolutely love Cori and Hunter, the way she makes him work for even a small piece of her attention is brilliant and the fact that he enjoys her fiestyness and embraces it makes me love him even more. Neither has had an easy life and the fact they find what they were missing with each other makes your heart melt. Seeing them overcome their struggles separately and together really draws you into the book and I can’t wait for the last one in the series.

This book follows Hunter redeeming himself. New York’s eligible bachelor gets bewitched by Cori. This female lead has a sad past that makes her the strong woman she becomes. Hunter and Cori’s story is filled with great smutty romance. A sweet and salty boy chases girl story with promised HEA. I’ve enjoyed reading about all the guy’s backstories and reading from their pov as the timeline interweaves.

This story is the fourth book in a series, and can be read as a standalone. The others are definitely amazing and I reccomend reading beforehand! 😍
Our main FMC, Cori, is a doctor who becomes the target for Hunter's desires. 💕 I absolutely love Cori and Hunter's chemistry! It is spicy and emotional.

FAVE of The Five books so far. I’ve been so curious about Hunter through all three previous books, and was not disappointed. We definitely got some more character depth and plot with Hunter & Cori. Cori has been through some significant trauma that is directly related to what Hunter does. Both MC’s experience so much growth, individually and together. Again, I love that this storyline overlaps with the other three books and I imagine the same will be true for the last book.

Hunter and Cori... WOW. The chemistry between these two characters is amazing. Showing not only the hard parts of addiction but the lasting effects it can have on not only the addict but also those around them. I was right there along with Cori ready to go to war against Hunter in parts until he finally made amends. A true Opposites attract.

I loved Cori and Hunter's story definitely my favourite so far.
These two are so different but god they are amazing together, theres so much sexual chemistry between them and the spice is spot on.
They both have awful and complex pasts that ultimately brings them together.
Full of action, drama and suspense and still has all our favourite couples making there appearances.
The cliffhanger OMG Ryder 😲
I cant wait for Ryder's story hes definitely a mystery

ARC reader— Definitely a good time had reading this. Hunter brought some goofy stuff to the table that was relatable, but man there was some heartaches in that story! Always a happy ending thankfully, but definitely stresses you out for a bit! 😅

Amazing, enticing, captivating!
An excellent read.. its not a traditional fairytale, it’s raw and real!
I loved the book. One would think it bring the fourth in the series, things might get repetitive or boring but L Hope outdone herself. I can’t wait for Ryder’s story next!

Wow I loved Hunters and Cori story it was so full of emotion from both sides she had a bad start in in life with awful parents and he hated his dad both of there stories and hard to listen too but I’m si glad I read it I would highly recommend this book and the series so far
