I think we got this book from a Little Free Library in our area. I mean, the title caught my attention. So I read it aloud to our 10-year-old son. It was right up his alley in imagination and creativity and making something real out of what started off as a homework assignment. And acing the assignment, by the way. I was hesitant when we began learning about the family situation of this girl, because I didn't know where it was going to take us, but...we kept reading and I'm glad we did. It's funny how everybody has their own little life but yet a family is one pieced-together-with-all-of-the-members life of its own. So many dynamics and choices. But liver cookies. Hilarious! And yes, they really DO have recipes in the back. And NO, we did NOT, and we DO NOT plan on trying any of them. ;-)

I like this book because it is grouse. And talks about mixing good food and junk food together. And i did not like this book because it gets of topic a little. It talks about her family then the food.
