My life was turned upside down the night I walked in on my boyfriend with another woman.

The look on his face when he saw me standing in the doorway will forever be ingrained in my memory. I would've given anything to escape the pain of my broken heart.

Like all the times before, when my world was left shaken, Mason was always there to pick me up when I fell.

He's a notorious ladies man and no stranger to chasing away his problems with alcohol and one night stands.

When I asked him for one night to help me forget, I begged him to promise me nothing would change between us. I hated the thought of losing him too.

I wish someone would've warned me about the risks of falling in love with your best friend.

Now our friendship will never be the same...

FOR GOODREADS

Title: Lost Before You (Heart's Compass Book 2)
Author: Brooke O'Brien
Genre: Romance, Young Adult, New Adult
Publication Date: October 27, 2017

ARC

This is a standalone book from the Heart's Compass Series but it is interconnected to Book 1 aka Where I Found You.
I cannot believe I'm saying this but I prefer this book more than the first. And before you go all "whatever" on me.. let me tell you something.... I fell in love with Ellie and Callum and their intense relationship but People! Brea and Mason? Brooke O'Brien took it into a whole new level! Explosively Addictive!

Here's my new theory, If the Character's name is Mason- Don't think, Just buy the damn book! I swear I kid you not, I've read and re-read 3 male characters with that name and they have been THE BOMB! Alpha Male all the way *swoon*

Brea and Mason's relationship isn't perfect, There are moments where you just want to slap their heads and scream in frustration but I guess in hindsight, that is the beauty isn't it? You feel what they feel- every betrayal, every sadness, every joy and the love that pours through the words written in the book.

O God. o god.. How to describe this book? How to tell you guys exactly how much feelings this book brought out? This friends-to-lovers-romance was extraordinary! I'll try my best to do this book justice with my review, but bottom line: This friends-to-lovers-romance is one of the best I've ever read. It's emotional, intense and phenomenally written. Brea and Mason are exquisite together. Brooke knows how to put emotions into words and share them with us through her characters, writing, and story-lines.

Brea and Mason have been best friends for years now. Both had their fair share of eh, let's call it relationships? haha - Well, Brea actually had relationships whereas Mason was kind of a man-whore, oops. They have been harboring feelings for one another for quite a while but both didn't dare give into them because they didn't want to destroy their friendship.  Both have issues with trust, and Brea even more so because of her ex. She decides to throw caution to the wind and takes comfort in Mase for one night with no commitments. She can’t bear to lose him as her friend, and she knows Mase doesn’t do relationships. And of course, that one night 'together' will change everything for both of them... They have to deal with the feelings they have for one another, that have come to the surface now and it won’t be an easy road for these two characters. Be prepared for some major heart-wrenching moments, some really really intense angst and a lot of swoon-worthy moments as well. Brea and Mason's story is one of the best friends-t0-lovers-romance out there!!
I didn't think I could fall even harder for a character written by Brook after reading that amazing first book Where I found you, but Mason and Brea prooved me wrong!
I didn't think I could fall even harder for a character written by Brooke because meeting Callum and Ellie in book 1 was so freaking amazing. I knew this book would hit me hard as well, but I didn't expect Mason to work his way into my heart even more as Callum did, but he DID. I couldn’t help but love Mason even though I hated it a bit to see the player side of him because right from the start I just shipped him so incredibly hard with Brea - but well, Brea had a relationship at that point and he's an attractive guy who doesn't want commitment so I get where he's coming from, the guy has needs too haha. I loved seeing how devoted he was to Brea, and how he was always there for her - I mean, SWOOOOOOON!! He knew he wanted long-term with her, but he was scared of getting hurt so he never made it known and I loved seeing that vulnerable side to him. And then they have their night, which changes everything and now he's desperate to explore their newfound relationship-status.

Brea grew so much as a person throughout the book and I had a connection with her immediately. I loved her small presence in the first book already. She then already felt like just a nice person, you know? Someone you want to be friends with. And getting to know her better now was such a joy! Brea is hurt by her past, and it greatly affects her. Aside from Mason, she puts up a wall around when she's around other people. But having to cope with her feelings for Mason after their night together, she finds new friendships which I really loved seeing developed. She made a really beautiful development throughout this book. It came alongside a lot of heartbreak, sobfests and reality checks.
One of the most exciting, realistic and addictive friends-to-lovers-romance I've ever read!
I'm a sucker for friends-to-lovers romance but not every author knows how to truly develop them well and give it a nice amount of depth, but Brooke really really really made it work with Mason and Brea, damn. These two.. fkjsbgjdhbfghjbdfghd, these two characters are exquisite together on the page. I loved their intense friendship and the presence of their romantic feelings for each other simmering beneath the surface, ready to be a part of the game. Because of their beautiful friendship, this all felt so real and believable. And there were sooo many emotions present which hit me right in my fangirl heart. And don't get me started on that amaaazing chemistry going on between these two. Their chemistry and attraction were like a firework exploding off the pages and I loved their romance development so much. It's so well written and just feels so realistic; This romance isn't perfect..There are moments where you just want to slap these characters haha and scream in frustration but that's one of the things what makes this romance so incredibly beautiful. I fell into their story so easily and experienced it all alongside Brea and Mason and every betrayal, every sadness, every joy and the love that pours through the words written in the book touched my heart.
The angst in this book was incredibly intense, had me on the edge of my seat and made me forget all about the outside world.
I think the angst in this book was even better than how it was written in Where I found you. I thought I had my fair share of heartbreak and sobfests in book 1 but this book was maybe even more intense when it came to the angst and emotions in this book. Whereas it's really different from what I've experienced in Where I found you, it still had some similarities to the geniality of this author's writing. She's really great in angst-written plots and this one had me on the edge of my seat as well. I've had so many moments in which I had tears in my eyes and/or my heart in my throat.. the angst was so palpable and I love it when a romance story has such a well-developed angst-written plot present.
"Thank you for being here for me," Mason whispers against the side of my head.
Tilting my head back, I flash him a small smile.
"You know if you ever need me, I'll always be here for you."
"I do know, and I thank God every day for you," he says.
The emotion behind his words take me off guard, and I feel the tears fill my eyes for the second time tonight.
Turning my head toward the TV, I blink back the tears as Mason presses his lips against my temple, breathing me in. I don't know what I would ever do if there came a day when Mason wasn't in my life and I don't want to find out.

My conclusion
This author is so talented when it comes to writing down realistic and believable romances, characters you're drawn to immediately and she really knows how to develop a great, romantic and sexy story-line that has you hooked right from the start. And I'm still flabbergasted by the fact this is only her second book and that her first one also was such an amazing read.

I fell in love with Brooke O'Brien's talented and addictive writing style in Where I Found You and with Lost Before You, she's cemented herself on my auto-buy list. *Lost Before You is an interconnected stand-alone novel.  It was also really awesome to have the first book's amazing couple who I loved so much as well, make appearances - I love interconnected books. I CANNOT WAIT for the next book in this FANTASTIC series, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

I'm going to quote myself from what I've said in the review of the first book because I still feel exactly the same way about this book as well:

This is such a beautiful, heart wrenching and powerful read. I just couldn’t do anything other than fall in love with these characters and losing myself in their story. It was so touching and beautiful and skjgdjhbgfhjdfg – just A LOT OF FEELS, alright? haha I enjoyed every single second of it and I’m craving more, more, more. The angst written throughout the book was really well done and it ended up in me having several teary-eyed moments. It left me an emotional blubbering fangirl, in the best way possible haha. Everything I could’ve wanted in a contemporary romance was present!
would I recommend this book? yes
would I re-read this book? yes
would I read future books by this author? yes
Do I need you to buy this book ASAP? YES, YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES!

When we first met, I knew she was going to ruin me. It wasn't one specific thing about her I fell in love with, but rather a million little things. It's how I know there will never be anyone else for me.

Reviewed on Behalf of Book Addict.live,
This is Book 2 in the series and is the story of Mason and Brea. They have been best friends at college for a couple of years, which has caused problems of jealousy with her boyfriend Kaleb.
What happens when best friends fall in love, it becomes a beautiful love story. Alas we know the path to true love never runs smooth.
This is book two in the Heart’s Compass series, the stories are interconnected. Mason is the younger brother of Callan from book one. They each can be read as standalone
I loved Mason and Brea they were adorable together. This is an enjoyable read, with best friends to lover’s troupe, and all angst that go with it. I think it would be best you read it yourself to find out what happens
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Lost Before You is an interconnected standalone. You do not need to read Where I Found You to enjoy this book.

So if you read my review of Where I Found You, you know I loved Callum, the funny thing is that I didn't think it could get any better than him, but oh boy I was wrong. I loved Mason. HARD. Sorry, Callum.

After reading Callum and Ellie's story, I was looking forward to reading about Mason and Brea. The drama happening there was so intense that grabbed my attention from the first moment they popped up in the story.

"...one night to forget everything else and get lost in someone."

Two friends. A hidden attraction.

There was something in the air. She knew it. He knew it. But admitting their attraction wasn't something they were ready to face, yet. But then one night, everything changed.

Brooke O'Brien gives me heroes I definitely fall in love with, but unfortunately, her heroines are not my favorites. There's no doubt I enjoyed Lost Before You more than I did the first book, but... there's always a but... Brea was worst than Ellie. OMG, there I said it. Seriously, I wanted to slap her so bad. She frustrated the hell out of me... I was like:

Dear Mason,

Go find another girl because this one is not for you.

Call me: 9831123776

Love,
Mg.

Lost Before You has a bit of everything in it: Angst, passion, friendship and of course LOVE. If you're looking for a sweet, passionate and at times frustrating second chance romance, this is the book for you. It will definitely make you feel.

I'm looking forward to reading about Graham and Halle.

After reading Callum and Ellie's story, I was kind of looking forward to getting to Mason and Brea's. They seemed like such a cute couple and I wanted to know what the drama was there, because you could definitely see there was drama happening.

And I have to say that their story left me a little deflated in spite of me wanting to love it. It was your typical "young college kids playing at being grownups" kind of story. And it left me so frustrated.

I felt like Brea's character was wishy washy at best. I also felt like she totally contradicted everything she stood for at the end when the ex boyfriend came back into the picture.

Brea had trust issues stemming from her parents' divorce. I totally got that. But it felt like she wasn't even trying. She ends up in a relationship with Mason, her best friend, after she breaks up with her boyfriend.

Mason had been in love with Brea for a while and he jumps at the opportunity to be with her. It really felt like he gave it his all, just for her to say in the end that they were just friends. And all that because he had not come out and labeled their relationship. Woman, he's been with only you for five months. He waited for you to come back to school for the entire summer. He is with you all the damn time.

The fight they had after which she expected an apology from him and he gave it to her because he felt like he had been in the wrong literally left me scratching my head thinking wtf just happened.

All in all, in spite of this story leaving me high and dry, I am looking forward to the next couple's story, Graham and Halle.

I haven’t read anything by Brooke O’Brien before, but I am so happy I found her! Friends to Lovers’ books are some of my favorites, and I LOVED this one!

Mason and Brea have been friends for a long time, but the two have harbored secret feelings for a while. Both have issues with trust, and Brea even more so because of her ex. She decides to throw caution to the wind and takes comfort in Mase for one night with no commitments. She can’t bear to lose him as her friend, and she knows Mase doesn’t do relationships. Of course, one night will change them! They have to finally deal with the feelings they have for one another, and it won’t be easy.

I couldn’t help but love Mase even if he was a player! He ALWAYS put Brea first. I loved the dual POVs because it gave me insight to their most personal thoughts. Despite his reputation, he was unsure of Brea. He knew he wanted long-term with her, but he was scared of getting hurt. I loved seeing that vulnerable side to him. Brea grew so much as a person throughout the book. She was so hurt by her past, and it greatly affected her. By the end of the book, she was someone different, and I liked her even better. She definitely proved she had a wonderful, forgiving heart. I thought she and Mase were perfect together, and I hoped they realized it before it was too late.

Lost Before You was a perfect title for this book! Mase and Brea were definitely lost before they found one another. Each had issues with their families, and together they were able to help and support one another. I can’t wait to read more in the series!!!!

I love finding new authors!

This was my first book by Brooke O’Brien and I can promise it won’t be the last. Once I picked up this story, I couldn’t set it down. I was completely captivated and sucked in to the characters and the plot.

I love reading New Adult novels where it feels like I’m living right alongside the characters. I can see the setting vividly, and I can feel each emotion as if it’s happening to me. Young love can be so sweet but can turn bitter sometimes as well. It was so much fun watching Mason and Brea navigate their relationship, lives, and emotions.

The chemistry between Mason and Brea was there from the get-go, when they were just friends. I was instantly a cheerleader for their relationship. However, that doesn’t mean there weren’t moments when I wanted to smack them both upside the head in frustration. I wanted them to figure things out faster! After being best friends for a few years, one night changes everything. Will Mason finally admit his feelings to Brea? Will she return those feelings?

This story can be read as a complete standalone and I can attest to that. I haven’t read the first in the series, Where I Found You but you can bet I’m going to read it ASAP!

Grateful to have received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

I Voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book

I loved this book. Just like the previous one it also had me hooked, but then again I wanted to know more about Mason.

Mason and Brea have been best friends for a while now. And like best friends they have been through a lot together. But what Brea didn't know was that Mason has been in love with her for a long time now, but he didn't want to take that final step and he saw that she was happy.
And then something happened. One night was all it took to change everything in their lives.

But will Mason be able to admit to his feelings for her and be the man that will love her forever just the way she deserves to be loved or will old wounds and old hurts prevent him from doing that.

Just like the previous book, loved every minute of it and read it in one go. Can't wait to read more from this author

This is a sweet, emotional story. Even though Brea seemed very young and naive, she was always sweet and thinking of others before herself.

“When we first met, I knew she was going to ruin me. It wasn’t one specific thing about her I fell in love with, but rather a million little things. It’s how I know there will never be anyone else for me.”

Lost Before You is one of those friends to lovers stories where everyone else sees it coming and you just want to knock some sense into the Hero & heroine so that they will wake up and see what is right in front of their eyes!!

“You let me see the real you instead of the version the rest of the world gets to see.”

I really enjoyed this author’s writing style and highlighted several beautiful passages while reading.

Brea and Mason. Best Friends into lovers. Their journey is hard and they most certainly have stumbles along the way. Their friends give then a helping hand after seeing their connection. Family troubles. You name it, it has it.

A great, sweet read that pulls on the heart strings.

I couldn’t put this book down. I’ve been waiting for this book since I finished “Where I Found You” and it didn’t disappoint. I know Brooke was a little worried about how this book would be perceived because it was a little racier than the last, but it was perfect. I loved reading about Mason and Brea’s story, even though I wanted to punch them both at times for not realizing what they had sooner. Their love for each other was so intense and obvious to everyone but them. I can’t wait for the next book on the series!! Great job Brooke, I am so proud of you.

I read Brooke's debut novel, Where I found You, and loved it, so I was excited to hear about this book, Lost Before You. While it is part of a series, you can easily read it as a stand alone. There's angst and heartbreak, romance and fun. The chemistry between Mason and Brea is great. While they can be frustrating at times, they are still so likeable it leave you wanting more. I look forward to reading more in the series.

4.5 Rating.

I was intrigued to see what was going to happen next and honestly I have to say that after reading this book you can tell that Brooke O’Brien’s writing has improved massively. I understand that Where I Found You was her debut novel so it wasn’t going to be perfect, but honestly after seeing some authors debut novels I know that Brooke had done an amazing job. This book I found to be even better in terms of the writing style and it seemed that she had worked out the pace and the characters perfectly. I didn’t see much repetition like there was in the first book and that goes to show that with each book she writes that she is just going to continue to grow. The one thing that I think that Brooke could work on is at times there is scenes from this book that were in the first book and the way that they happen to play is like extra details get added in so it’s not always consistent. I think that if she would make sure that the scenes are matching but make sure that the thoughts of who’s perspective stands out when they cross over into the other books then I think it would be perfect. That’s the only thing that I thought didn’t work for me. Otherwise Brooke wrote another amazing book. I’m looking forward to seeing what the next one in the series will bring.

Mason and Brea have been best friends for a good few years and they have always been there for each other, but little does Brea know that all the time her and Mason have known each other, Mason has loved her, yet he refuses to put his heart on the line because he sees that she is happy with the relationship that she is in. You can’t help but feel for him until you find out what he’s like when it comes to how he treats girls…. In some ways, you think that he was like his dad and following down his path until one night things change and it’s like there’s been a spell cast upon both Brea and Mason. Yet after that night their relationship is tested, whether they are able to continue as if things are normal will determine if their friendship can survive.

I fell in love with Brooke O'Brien's talented writing style in Where I Found You (Book 1), and with Lost Before You, she's cemented herself on my addiction list. You don't have to read the first book in the Heart's Compass series before this one, but I recommend it, because there are things that intertwine. Brea and Mason have been best friends for a while, but secretly, Mason has wanted to make Brea his. However, she keeps him firmly in the friend zone because she doesn't want to lost him, but secretly, no man has ever measured up to him. Things take a drastic turn when Brea breaks up with her boyfriend, and hooks up with Mason for a night to forget. Now, that gate has been opened, and Mason is going to convince her that they can be more than friends, but will Brea finally give in for a chance at true love? This story is filled with all kinds of emotional angsty goodness so potent that I felt like I was on the sidelines trying to get them together. See, Brea & Mason are perfect for each other, with a shot of insane chemistry that cannot do anything else but explode into hot flames of sexy times, but their stubbornness kept them wasting time. And the cast of secondaries are highly entertaining which give it hilarious moments that had me laughing hard. I've talked about Brooke O'Brien's talented writing style some above (<- yes, I couldn't help saying it again because peeps need to know her), but I need to add that it's refreshingly original on top of all the amazingness. Normally when there's a man whore involved, there's another woman to make trouble, but that wasn't the case here, and because I don't do spoiler douchery, I won't say more, you'll just have to read it! Not to mention, it was awesome to have the first book's amazing couple who I loved, make appearances. I could go on all day, but that would take time away from everyone just reading this fantastic story. I CANNOT WAIT for the next book in this FANTASTIC series, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

'Lost Before You' was just lovely! I really enjoyed it from start to finish and once I got into it, could not put it down. I just wanted to keep turning the pages to see where this story was going to go and what would happen between the two characters.

Callum and Ellie's story was really enjoyable in 'Where I Found You', but Mason and Brea took things to another level. This captivating and emotional story had me hooked.

This book could definitely be read as a standalone. Especially as the timelines run parallel with book #1, but there is an element of me that thinks you would understand the full picture & background of the characters if you read them in order.

Mason and Brea were a lovely couple, and I loved how their friendship developed. They are everything I want from a couple, and Brooke O'Brien certainly delivered with a fun fast-paced, sweet story. Mason is extremely swoon worthy, with such a kind thoughtful and sensitive side to him.

Brea doesn't want to get hurt and trust is a huge issue for her! The only person she fully trusts is Mase, but as her best friend. Mason has similar feelings about relationships, hence why he currently just spends one night with a girl, and no more.

Brea and Mason were really frustrating at times and I really wanted to bang their heads together to get them to sort themselves out. JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER!!!!! They were so stubborn at times...

The secondary characters in this book were great. Seeing Callum and Ellie feature in this story was great, Lissa is fantastic and I can't wait for Graham's story next!!

A wonderful friends to lovers story, with just the perfect amount of angst and drama. I can't wait to see what this author brings us next!

Lost Before You is the second novel in the inter-connected standalone series, Heart’s Compass, and the first I have read by Brooke O’Brian. I liked the story, there were some positive qualities, but I didn’t completely fall in love with it.

Mason and Brea are best friends. When Brea asks him for one night, no strings, and a promise that their friendship won’t change, you know right then and there she’s a fool to even think things would be the same and Mason knows it too. Mason is a likable leading man; he’s protective, sweet, honest, and the kind of guy who will make your heart beat a little faster. It’s obvious that his friendship with Brea is very important to him and at the same time you can tell it’s also so much more than “just friends” even before the night that does indeed, change everything.

Unfortunately, I just wasn’t exceptionally fond of Brea. I didn’t quite get her rational behind some of her choices and there was a time I wanted to just knock her upside the head in frustration. Their changing relationship was believable, and they had nice chemistry. It was my connection to her character that was lacking, therefore detracting from my overall enjoyment of the story. I also skim read over some bits, as I found the pacing was a bit slow at times. I’m not a huge fan of repeating part of the story/conversations when switching the POV and that was done in some chapters.

For me this was a decent read. It’s cute with a hot hero and it was nice getting lost in a book for a little while. It’s a pleasant friends-to-lovers romance and a quick read that I’m sure many will love, it just missed the mark for me personally.

Lost Before You is Book two in the Heart's Compass series by Brooke O'Brien and is a great "follow up" to Where I Found You.  This series has quickly landed itself on my stalking list!

Lost Before You reads parallel to Where I Found You, using those secondary characters now as primary. I really am enjoying this group of friends and their drama.  They have quite the crew and I love that Mason and Callum are brothers with their own drama...it's not just a girl and guy struggling to find each other.  It's more.  Complex, and with so much deep seated hurt for several characters...emotional too!

Best friends falling in love makes some of the best angst!  He wants to keep his promise about nothing changing but secretly can't and she really just wants to be loved and can't figure out where her best friend went.  I have to say so far Mason is my favorite guy.

I read this whole thing in one sitting...much like book two and this took me a little over 4 hours.  While Lost Before You is part of a series it can be read as a standalone...you won't have any problems understanding what is going on.

I really like this series and can't wait for more.  Still waiting for the one that pulls on my heart strings and makes me ugly cry for hours.

I am giving Lost Before You 4 stars.

This is the second book in the series and once again, I fell in love with the characters. Lost Before You follows the story of Callum's brother, Mason, and his best friend, Brea. We met them briefly in Callum and Ellie's story, so I was intrigued to find out more about them, and also to get a little more insight into the history between Callum and Mason and their tension regarding their father. It was nice to see Mason's side.

Brea has trouble trusting people. Her father ruined that for her when he took off to start another family, leaving her and her mother devastated. Mason has been her best friend, her rock for years. So much so that she will happily drop everything to be with him if he needs her, even though her boyfriend doesn't take too kindly to that.

This book had me grinning a lot. I just love Mason, he's such a sweetheart. Definitely book boyfriend material! There were some seriously hot scenes in here, but also some really heartwarming moments, and times when I wanted to smack a certain someone up the side of his head, you'll understand when you read it. Ooh he made me mad!

Overall though, this book was another great read :) I look forward to seeing what the next ones in the series are like.

Lost Before You is the second installment of Brooke O'Brien's Heart's Compass series and can be read as a standalone.

Brooke O'Brien has written a great story in the best friends to lovers genre. But at times this couple had me really reaching for a connection. I really like Mason and thought he was all in to taking the next step in his relationship with Brea even though he was constantly reassuring her of the fact. Yes, he messed up in the past with her but since they hadn't had a talk defining their relationship I felt Brea was to quick to judge his words, reactions and feelings.

Brea was who I had trouble connecting with a lot of the time. Her running from her feelings for Mason left both of us wondering if they were only friends that hook up. She should have been the one to admit she made mistakes as well.

I really like the first book in this series and enjoyed this one just not as much. But I am really looking forward to Graham and Hallie.

An emotional, captivating and passionate romance!

Lost Before You is a passionate and dynamic love story. This is a story that will have you believe in happily ever. There was realistic attraction and chemistry between Brea and Mason. Theirs was a passion that built for years and had time to grow into something special and right. While reading the story it is easy to get lost in the story while seeing the characters as your friends or family members. They are realistic, engaging and well developed.

This is another story that by Brooke O’Brien that captivated me. The story line is fresh and moves along at a steady pace. This is a sweet and enjoyable story that will captivate you and keep your attention from the beginning to the end. I couldn’t put the book down and can’t wait to read more about the other characters mentioned throughout the books.

This was the second book that I have read by Brooke O’Brien. It will certainly not be my last. I have yet to be disappointed with her stories. She is one author to keep an eye on as she gets better and better.

I'm grateful to the author Brooke O'Brien for her  generosity in sending me an ARC. Its such a beautiful heart wrenching emotional story of two best friends who worked so hard in keeping things from becoming complicated in their life.

🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

I love the title LOST BEFORE YOU, it is foolproof. Brea and Mason seem lost without each other. Brooke O'Brien has an impeccable way of expressing the emotions.

🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

Brea, unable to trust everyone in her life, trusts Mason with her life. She works hard to keep her feelings for Mason at bay. Mason, torn between his brother and father, whom his brother loathes turns towards Brea.

🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

Just one night of passion turns their world upside down.

I was already in love with them from the very beginning of the series in WHERE I FOUND YOU, in which Ellie and Callum robbed me from myself.

Its a must read book and I'm definitely looking forward to more in this series .

The second book in the series, I think I fell in love with this book even quicker than I did the first. In Lost Before You we get the story of Mason and Brea. Best friends for a few years, they are headed into their senior year in college together. She has a boyfriend, he doesn’t need a girlfriend with his reputation and patterns he follows. When things break off between Brea and her boyfriend, she turns to Mason for one night to forget it all. She requests a promise that nothing will change between them. They can have one night together and still be best friends when the fog of the night before wares off. What Brea doesn’t realize is when she asks that of Mason, he will never be able to keep that promise. The chemistry between them is so unbelievable that you kind of wonder why the two hadn’t ended up together sooner. There is drama, emotion and lots of steamy between-the-sheets time that neither of them had planned on continuing beyond their one night together. When history, friendship and love mix, what could go wrong right? Wrong. This book packs so much into it that I am so excited to get the next story in the series. Brooke has done such an amazing job of telling a story that so many of us have been through in our life’s. Friends to lovers is always a fun read for me and I can’t wait to see these two pop-up in the next installment.

*I received an ARC of this title at my request, and am providing this voluntary review. *

The best lovers are your best friends. That's what they will tell you. Who knew that road would be a curvy one? Mason loves his best friend Brea. Brea is currently dating someone. He has learned to cope with this through drinking and non stop women. When Brea suddenly becomes single, its no holds bar, Mason is there to the rescue to sweep her off her feet. The road still isn't straight and narrow but nothing great is ever without any hard work.

I liked the flow of this story. We are given the details and the actions of all around. We follow these two down their path of self finding and growing. I hated that Brea couldn't take Mason's feelings seriously though until he put them all out there. Their relationship was anything but casual but she didn't want to be hurt or let down. Mason's track record surely was going to do both.

Brook took us on a great journey and we were rewarded with a great couple.

This is the first book by Brooke O’Brien that I have read and which I totally enjoyed every word she wrote. This book is book 2 of a series and the very second book the author has written so I have not read the first one” When I Found You” the story of Callum and Ellie. This book is about Mason and Brea, Mason is Callum’s brother so each book is interconnecting but can be read as stand-alone as I have done. This book is about best friends, there feeling towards each other and what would happen if they step over that line of friendship to lovers. I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review. I enjoyed the authors writing style and I am looking forward to reading the first book in this series as well. The main characters are in their early twenties and the sexual chemistry between the two is very hot. I did find at times I was telling to characters to wake up and look at what they were doing but I had to remember these where very young adults finding there a way in life and love.

Wow what a story by author, Brooke O'Brien. This is a story that made me so emotional Brooke and Mase's story begins with friendship and then develops from there. I was definitely on an emotional roller coaster throughout this book. I love stories that are friends to lovers and this one did not disappoint. From page one, I was immediately drawn in and did not want to put the book down. As I was reading, the suspense of Brooke and Mason's relationship was killing me. I wanted it so badly to work. Brooke's insecurity of trusting the relationship made me want to smack her at times. Mason's playboy ways did not help the situation. There are sexual situations in the book but they play such a big part in the story development. This book is truly amazing and a definite must read.

I loved the story of how Brea and Mason came together! I knew that they couldn't just be friends with benefits. I knew right from the start that they felt something more for each other and that things would go some place for them. These two had a fierce bond between them and were always meant to have something more then a friendship they just had to see past it and realize it. They had to work through and deal with some crazy things that happened in both there lives and help each other out but thats what friends and loves are for, to always be there for each others in the good times and the bad times. Another amazing read by Brooke O'Brien, I absolutely LOVED it!

This was a great story I absolutely love the chemistry between these two and I truly enjoy a love story where they have history. To me it makes the story so much more believable for the couple to know each other. While these two have been best friends, they have also loved each other first. As great as they are together I have to admit I just felt like socking Brea too many times to count for her attitude and choices. It was a beautifully written story that was easy to fall into and stay until the last page. Great characters, even when I wanted to choke that child, with a great storyline make it worth reading this standalone read.

I was excited to read Brooke’s latest book ‘Lost Before You’.
Although it’s a standalone, it is interconnected to her first book ‘Where I found you’ so I would read this first.

This story is based around best friends Brea and Mason. Both characters have family issues that are addressed in the plot but this story is how their friendship changes.
Brooke takes this book to a different level adding hot chemistry, intriguing characters like Graham and a beautiful location in Arbor Creek.

Personally, I like different POV but not when it repeats part of story again and this happens a few times.

A fab read with plenty of ... moments from Mason!
I can’t wait for more Arbor Creek fun from Brooke O’Brien.
