What's a poor dragon shifter to do when his human mate misses Christmas time? Send his men to Earth to learn the local customs, of course... Just be careful where you send them...
Such a fun read. I can understand why the readers requested additional stories from this world:-)
So i downloaded another book to my kindle. Here i thought it would be a really good book. Not a short novella. So the concept was so cute. A king from another realm (were they are dragon shifters)pops into Earths realm. While here he finds a girl that he is just taken by her beauty. He pretty much kidnaps her and takes her back to his realm. He adorns her with gifts. He loves her temper. And one day enemies attach her and her jump infront of an arrow for her. Then and there she realizes that she actually did love him too. All she has to do is bat her eyelashes at him and he gives her anything she wants.
After the back story it jump into present time where the Queen has locked herself in their room. The king is outside the door trying to figure out why she got mad. Especially since him and his men have spent the last year researching Christmas. They don't have that tradition in his world but he wanted to make her happy, because that is what she is use to. She finally tells him that she freaked out b/c he said that they were going to eat the goose that he had pinned up. He tells her that they will do what ever it is she wants him to do. While back down stairs the gaurds sing Christmas Carols. But they aren't the right kind to sing. The guards had stopped by a strip club and learned Christmas Carols from the girls. The Queen ended up losing it. And lost it laughing more when they pulled out a gift for her. They had bought a nightie. She told the King what they had done. And he lost it. While yelling at some of the men they backed up into a candle and it landed on the Christmas Tree. And of course everything started going up in flames. They even let the goose go. And it was going around and biting people b/c it was so scared. In the end the king and queen end up heading to their bed chambers. The end.

The messed up naughty Christmas was exceedingly funny! I laughed, til I actually had tears in my eyes! I've had contact with "Rogers". I don't like them either. Ha ha ha! Will definitely be reading more from this author!
I was looking for another Mandy Roth (loved some of her other work) and I ran across this short story being offered for free.
As the description and the intro states - this was meant to be a short story, a farce, and not a full story with erotic romance.
It meets the requirements of what it aims for. That is to say it is a short story and a farce. I, though, did not find it funny or romantic or sweet.
The (very controlling) king wants to give his (very controlling) wife a Christmas. The results are a mess of two controlling people doing things in all the wrong ways.
Any book ed written by MS. Roth is a great read . One might not care for a certain genre in a romance novel but one could not disagree with the fact that Mandy is an excellent novelist . Her books are well-written , well-edited , and the plots always well thought out . If you like the genre's MS. Roth writes you'll absolutely love her books .
This was a fun, quick read with no sex scenes (which was nice in a novella). Three years after the King of the dragon realm found his human queen, they celebrate Christmas for the first time. Well, his men went to the wrong place to learn about caroling and gift giving. No one taught them about tree safety. And I don’t think they knew exactly what to do with a live goose. This was full of funny, innocent mistakes, and it made me interested in learning more about this realm.
King, King, Goose? is a short story in the Realm of the Dragon Shifters series and I just absolutely loved reading this story. This was just such a cute story and I just didn’t want it to end. It was a brief glimpse into this new world and it wasn’t nearly enough. I hope the author will go back to the beginning and write this couples whole story because I would definitely want to read it.
I will read anything that Mandy writes. This one is absolutely hysterical to read. The misunderstanding s are truly right on. The reactions of Marathi are just perfect. Having had geese as a kid, The Roger reminds me strongly of a gander my dad had. I live this book.😂😂😂
This is a action packed short story of a king dragon shifter that took a wife from the human realm. And his men tried to give her a Christmas like she remembered but the men the King sent learned the traditions and customs from the very last place possible a strip club 😆 🤣 😂 its hilarious thru out the story!
I cried! With laughter!! It is an absolute treasure of a book. Ideal if you're feeling a bit down in the mouth. It's 20 minutes of hilarity. Oh my Mandy M Roth it's got to be the best book yet, thank you. I thoroughly recommend it, a must for everyone.
I loved this short story!! It was hilarious and I was laughing right Ali g with Tara. “The Roger” was fantastic and I cried laughing when he bit the king on the behind. 😂😂😂
Hilarious! Great chunk of humor to start a Monday on a fun note. The reactions to "The Roger" were priceless. The choice of instructional institution understandable. The carols unforgettable.
Can't really give too many details about this one without giving away the entire story. But, it's a very cute little story about a man who is trying to please his wife by giving her Christmas in his realm when he isn't really sure what it is.
A dragon king tries to create a human Christmas for his human wife. He gives her the best Christmas ever. Short seasonal story, I enjoyed this book it made me laugh. There are 11 other excerpts from other books the author has written, a list of her books, and author recommendations .
Short, sweet novelette. Humorous, romantic and gives a quick peek into the authors writing style. Definitely wet my whistle, looking forward to dipping my toe into the pool. Enjoy!
Goes down as another off my 2019 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book set at Christmas time.
Talk about a Christmas to remember! Najarni, the dragon shifter King, wishes to make his human wife, Tara, happy and will do anything to make it so. He knows how hard it was to give up her world and customs with coming to the dragon shifter realm. One she never knew even existed. Seems Tara got a shock when Najarni spotted her and knew she was to be his. Sweeping her off her feet to claim her quite literally and take her back home with him. Three years on she couldn't be happier but always gets somber around her Christmas time. So plan of action for Najarni was to send his finest warriors to the human realm to learn all the customs of Christmas to give her the best surprise yet.
Things don't go quite to plan though. Firstly 'The Roger' must not be harmed; this goose isn't getting cooked. Next we have carols being sung with a difference (an oomph being a key factor in their moves and choice of words) and then you have a gift that really should have been opened in private. These warriors really should have checked where they got their information!
Entertaining all the same as one calamity seems to lead to the next. Think Tara's sides will be hurting by all the laughing she does – even funnier as they don't realise what they are doing wrong. Fun interpretations of Christmas classics it seems. It will sure be a crazy Christmas celebration to remember. Let's see what next year brings.
Free short read that was a nice stopgap between books to give you a bit of a laugh with the capers these dragon shifters can get into. Who would have thought being chased by a goose would cause them to get in a flap. Tara got her Christmas wish and I'm thinking an even better present later that night.
I was kindly sent this in exchange of an independent unbiased review (kindle version).
**What is good about it?** Her grammar, spelling, and sentence structure were very well done. Kudos to Team Roth.
This is a VERY short story with some suggestive visuals to it. The song repeating in your head will leave you chuckling most of the day or whenever you hear the song again. If we were aliens I would imagine this is how they would also describe our “weird” Christmas tradition and decorations.
**What doesn't work?** Nothing I can really pinpoint.
**Summary** This is a super quick short story about a time of year most would admit is their favorite. If you enjoy erotica this is really vanilla with just a small suggestion. If you enjoy a good chuckle, there’s more of that. I would rate this a B+
As a voracious reader, I usually read books that take 3-12 hrs (300+ pages) to so it seemed extremely short but was worth the little amount of time it took to read vs the amusement factor. It priced as free and should stay that way as it is more of teaser. (kindle version). ----- My STARS ratings scale: 5. Excellent, 4. Good enough that I'd probably read it again, 3. Entertaining but it wasn't compelling/engaging/complicated enough for me read it again, 2. Some parts were ok but I'm irritated by some of it's problems 1. Just bad
Very funny, just way too short. Najarni is king of the purple dragons, and his wife (Tara) is from the human realm. For her, he had his men study the Christmas holiday and bring back items to decorate the palace for the holiday celebration. They brought trees, and a goose. When she sees the goose, she gets upset and gets him to not kill Roger the goose. The problem is that he thinks it's a roger, not a goose. Then the guards start singing carols. The problem is that they learned them from a stripper bar. They start singing and grabbing themselves. He tells them to stop, and they stop so suddenly that one accidentally knocks over one of the trees and starts a fire. In the comotion, the guard protecting the goose, sets it free so it doesn't catch on fire. Then the goose starts attacking people and eventually pecks Najarni in the butt. Lots of laughs. Just picturing grown men cowering from a goose (as most people do) even though they can change into a dragon made me laugh. And picturing a congo like line of soldiers singing a lewd "Jingle Bells" made me laugh too.
