Books can be attributed to "Unknown" when the author or editor (as applicable) is not known and cannot be discovered. If at all possible, list at least one actual author or editor for a book instead of using "Unknown".
Books whose authorship is purposefully withheld should be attributed instead to Anonymous.
I know I was a bit overly critical of the first issue, but that's only because the text kinda demands it. For something with this cartoony a design, one might be misled into thinking this is in fact unembellished with its themes; on the contrary it's a very complex series of books where the whole context seems to be subtext.
I missed issues #2-4 so I can't say I knew what was really going on here, but I barely knew what was happening in the first issue either so I'd say it's pretty standard at this point. The series is a very surreal and occasionally confusing. But ultimately I find this, as an emotional journey, somehow satisfying.
The edgy early 90's IMAGE art always makes me think it's gonna be a lot dumber than it is. I think that's part of the satisfaction. Being so utterly wrong about it.
Reading this as a stand-alone issue without the benefit of the rest of the series was a bit confusing, especially as the bulk of the comic is a dream sequence. But I know I'm not alone, as the letters page reflects a lot of confusion and questions from the fan-base. I'm sure that Keith's story-telling hits on multiple levels, and I love the general art and playfulness of the Maxx.
So far a set up in this issue. I did really like the visuals in this dream sequence. It was a shake up compared to the others it was a nice semi filler issue. Still worth reading.
