Another of the wonderful works by C. Keith Wilber. The illistrations are the very best and allow the reader to see how to recreate objects that were used by Native Americans from the time of the Eastern Woodlands to the present day. The work is laid out in such a way that almost anyone could read and recreate a craft item from the work. A well done tool for education and the person interested in learning about Native American crafts as well.

Deep insight into Native American material culture: This book describes many of the material goods made by Native Americans, and gives the reader an intimate understanding of their construction. Each item is described, with drawings of museum-piece examples. Wilbur then describes how Native Americans made the item (drawing from eye-witness memoirs where possible), and finally describes ways to make reproductions using modern techniques. Really gives one an appreciation for iron. Ideal for a youngster interested in Indians (and what youngster isn't?)
