We're back with more mixed-ups, mash-ups, and utter mishaps! Konatsu is completely confused about Haruki's feelings toward her. She isn't sure if he even likes her! And if he does, is it the boy Haruki or the girl Haruki that really likes him?! "A romantic tumult of deep affection, awkward teen love, and heavy physical intimacy, [that is] also more thoughtful than many romantic comedies." -comicbookbin.com"A little kinky and weird... Kedamono Damano has fun with its shamelessness." â€"Mania.com From the Creator of Instant Teen!
Name in Japanese: フクシマハルカ She is a Japanese shōjo manga artist. She made her manga debut in 1999 in Nakayoshi Magazine with her award-winning manga Sakuranbo Kiss. She considers Otona ni Nuts (Instant Teen: Just Add Nuts) to be her masterpiece.
Taking pride in its shamelessness as always, this volume of Kedamono Damono focuses on Konatsu's confusion of how Haruki REALLY feels about her, and if boy Haruki even loves her at all, especially when he acts like a "cold snake" to her. She begins to question everything, until boy Haruki finally takes the reins just like his female counterpart.
Cute, cute, just like the last one. It also followed the sort of episodic recap like the last one, I guess because each chapter was for the Nakayoshi magazine, and it was only compiled into a tankobon/volume by demand. Anyway! I really enjoyed each chapter. The hot springs one really gave me a craving to visit a hot springs with my ex, heheh~. A traditional Japanese natural hot spring. I want to visit one so baddlllyyyyy! Just for a day and night, urgh. And in the "episode" after the hot springs one, Beni just really was pissing me off. I hate girls like her. As a matter of fact, girls like her are the very reason I am so mistrusting of girls and my ex when he would even remotely flirt with some girl he thought was pretty. But I'm glad that Haruki and Konatsu were finally able to admit their feelings for one another. Boy Haruki actually sorta did so first, I guess? These two chapters revolved around them confessing their feelings..again, lol. I really like that female Haruki still played a role in it, but unlike usual, this really revolved around male Haruki who finally followed his heart for..TWICE! Or more. Even so much as pinning her down and asking if she'd like to go further in their relationship. He's finally becoming a man and living up to what is in his heart..and pants. And as always, in every chapter, even the one shot mermaid extra chapter, Haruka Fukushima is quite good at creating climactic scenes. They're pretty exciting, and I've become used to the fact that nothing is truly going to develop in this series. Each chapter is more of a thrill ride than a real story and/or character development. But that's good I accept it, because now I can really enjoy it for what it is.
In regards to the mermaid extra at the end, I loved itttt. Such adorable puppy love. Haruka Fukushima could really develop that story though. It has a lot of potential. And Natsume is really cute, and Senri is actually pretty cute too. Even Kaoru (who is basically me right now). I didn't like the vice-president though... She reminded me of Anri Sonohara and she was just plain annoying. But anyway, it was a great story and I really enjoyed it.
Continuing from my review on vol 1 I think the story line is unique. The fact that the guy turns into a pervy girl at night, but there were some inconsistences with setting, and it would sometimes get confusing what was going on. Continue to last vol for final thoughts on the series.
