Jane B. Mason
123 books102 followers Jane B. Mason grew up in a large family in northern Minnesota. She has written books for kids of all ages under many names and on many subjects, among them ghosts, Jedi, detective duos, princesses, twins, mean girls, and slam books.
Jane has lived in the midwest and on both coasts, but appears to have settled in Oakland, California, and writes almost every day at either a friend's dining room table or a little studio in her back yard, where she has a purple loveseat, a whole lotta books, and an odd selection of trinkets she has unwittingly been collecting since she was a child.

I feel like this is a young reader's version of PART of the movie, but it doesn't sound familiar? (Granted, I'm not so huge a Star Wars fan that I've seen any but movies "4", "5", and "6" more than the once in theatre, which by now was ALMOST twenty years ago... ack.)
One problem, I noticed, Boga is green/blue in the movie, and more of a muted purple in this book. It feels like that's an important detail, considering how much time Obi-Wan spends with her. Also, I don't know... it might be me, but as a young reader, I had a lot of trouble following science-fiction stories unless I *saw* them—that is, sci-fi movies were cool. Sci-fi stories? Harder to follow. I think that's true even with more recent stories, that I can't follow as easily if I haven't *seen* it (and sometimes, even if I have).
This is probably great for young Star Wars fans, though! Even if it still has the same violence as the movie (but hidden in the words).

Plenty of action, good vs evil, cyborgs & Jedi. There are enough characters to keep the story interesting. I was encouraged to read this by my sons. I'm glad I did.
