Okay.....das war echt wieder ordentlich trivial....und irgendwie vorhersehbar....und trotzdem....dieser zweite Teil der Reihe um die drei irischen Schwestern in Australien hat mich komplett mitgerissen....!

Ohne Schwierigkeiten wird an den ersten Band angeknüpft....die jungen Mädchen Ismay und Mara erleben in ihrer unfreiwilligen neuen Heimat Australien allerlei Unvorhergesehenes....
Und ihre Schwester Keara sucht weiterhin verzweifelt nach den zwei....

Eine historische Frauen/Trivial/Auswanderer Reihe genau nach meinem Geschmack....kurzweilig, gut im historischen Kontext recherchiert und überaus spannend...!

It's no secret I'm an Anna Jacobs fan. I find her writing has a wonderful captivating flow, turns reading into a most enjoyable experience.

Well, I've raised the bar somewhat because I've just read 'Threepenny Dreams' by Anna Jacobs and it is without doubt the most engaging story I've ever read.

Put 'Threepenny Dreams' by Anna Jacobs on your must read list because without it you have no hope of ever feeling satisfied. The story told and the story telling is pure genius.

Threepenny Dreams is the third book in a three novel series titled, The Irish Sisters. (A Pennyworth of Sunshine, Twopenny Rainbows and Threepenny Dreams) All three books are written parallel in time from a different character perspective, quite intriguing as it allows each novel to stand complete alone with a bonus for those who read them all. An extra bonus can be found by reading them all in order. These books etch an impressive author mark on the reader as well as a fine story experience.

Even more surprising, Threepenny Dreams doesn't have an Irish Sister in sight but don't let that small detail stop you reading this marvellous novel. I'm giving Threepenny Dreams five stars, it's worth at least eight.

I loved this book. My copy has a different cover, but same isbm number.
Anna Jacobs is one of my favourite authors, her writing is brilliant and her books are not similar as with some authors.
This story us set in 1863 -1864 in Yorkshire, England. The stories of several characters are intertwined and told simultaneously, but as sometimes is the case I didn't find this confusing at all. My favourite character has to be Hannah, she goes through so much, and I also liked Nathaniel and Oliver. The story is full of life and action, never stops still, meaning I just wanted to keep reading. Overall a fantastic read and would defiantly recommend.

Well what can I say this was a fab book Anna at her best the trials and tribulations of Hannah and her son then meeting Nathaniel and getting a loving family after some murder and mystery a blinder of a book 5 STARS.

J’aime beaucoup cette auteure et cette série, et j’étais impatiente de me plonger dans un nouveau tome.

Nous suivons la vie de trois personnes, sans savoir comment leur destin va s’entremêler : Nathaniel King, un fermier ; Hannah que nous avons déjà rencontrée dans les autres romans et qui doit s’occuper de son fils et de sa belle-fille, une situation intenable ; et enfin Oliver, le frère d’un homme exécrable.

J’ai passé un super moment avec ce roman. Comme à chaque fois, j’ai été emportée par l’histoire. J’avais hâte de connaître enfin l’histoire d’Hannah. Cette pauvre femme m’a fait beaucoup de peine. Elle est courageuse, malgré les problèmes qui la poursuivent sans cesse. J’avais hâte qu’elle ait droit à son happy end après avoir traversé autant d’épreuves. Les vies de Nathaniel et Oliver ne sont pas plus simples non plus, et j’ai pris plaisir à les découvrir.

I did enjoy this story but i don't plan to read another of Anna Jacobs' books anytime soon.
There were just too many little stories going on, i got a bit lost remembering who was who. I was eager to get to the end as i couldn't bear more tragedy, poor Hannah, poor Nathaniel, poor Oliver, how did they make it to the end of the book?

Worth Reading

There was something compelling about this story that made me want to not put it down.

Recently widowed, Hannah Firth is still young - young enough to dream of a new life. When her spiteful daughter-in-law uses her as an unpaid servant, Hannah tries to leave, but she is unaware of the depths that Patty's spite will lead her to.

When she does eventually get away she meets recently widowed Nathaniel King who has had his livelihood destroyed by his landlord’s son the nasty Walter Dewhurst. Throw into the mix his landlord’s younger son Oliver, Nathaniel’s niece Ginny her fiancé Nick and later Lady Anne, who becomes Oliver’s wife, you have an interesting story of good triumphing over bad. There were a lot of horrible people around at the time too to help the story along too.

Anna Jacobs does it again

I appreciate Anna's care for each person to have a story, a journey, developed character traits. I love that she has followed through on a family member from another series and then built out the

connections all around him even taking us back to England for this story. I also very much appreciate the follow through on older characters where so many other books just deal with two main people till they get together then that's the end of it.

Considering this is part of the Irish Sisters trilogy, this was not at all Irish. Based in Lancashire and no Irish people. But it's still a good story. The only link to the previous books is Hannah, Malachi's mother, and that went into a horrible drama and sad story, which obviously ends well (or as well as it can). It felt like in some moments, the author was hurrying to get people married, probably because there were too many loose ends and multiple stories. But was it still a nice read.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the 3rd and final story of this trilogy. Once again it is good to read about individual characters and then the way they are connected within the story, too many characters to name. My heart went out to Hannah the way she was treated by her daughter-in-law and her escape to freedom, there were times I just couldn’t put the iPad down and had to keep reading it! This trilogy gave the reader a real sense of family, and for some
Showed how money and power can ruin people’s lives.
Once again Anna has provided the readers of the lives of the Irish sisters, their individual lives and their futures. Thoroughly enjoyed all three books

Found this book a very good read it captivated me from start to finish, I couldn't work out how it would end, like some books I've read , which I think is good.
Good people win in the end . The only thing I found a little confusing was how close they all lived or whether there were miles in-between

Following the story of Hannah, the mother of Malachi from Twopenny Rainbows. Also intertwined with two other characters, who all have their respective demons and enemies! Keeps you gripped right up to the end. I am sorry this series has come to an end.

Why no audio upgrade for this book?

Would have given five stars but there is no audio upgrade option on this book but the first and second one does ? Why do that? However as always with Anna's books, it was an enjoyable read.
