This was an excellent read. For the most part I have burned out on mysteries and crime, but this was selected for one of my book clubs so I decided to read it. The author happens to live in my neighborhood and is going to be with us at our meeting next week. I look forward to meeting her and hearing her approach to writing. Mockingbird in the Moonlight is a quick read about a female book store owner and former cop who against her better judgment becomes embroiled in the investigation of the murder of an acquaintance that she never really liked. As the story unfolds there are many possible killers, none of whom has a strong motive. Unlike many mysteries where everybody seems to have done it at some point, I never suspected any of the suspects here. I was completely taken by surprise at the end which I liked. The back story was appealing and ended the story as I thought it should.
