About the author

Clive Corner

25 books
I began reading fantasy and science fiction when I was eight. By twelve I was writing my own stories. But I never managed to finish anything.

I did a Creative Writing course under Teresa Benison in 2008/9. Several of the pieces were well received and one is now the basis for a book (The Far Coast).

Semi-retirement in 2023 gave me the chance to finish stories and the stories wouldn’t stop coming. I wrote twelve books that year. All set in the world of the Tuatha De Danann of old Irish myth.

Perception has always fascinated me. The way the mind will explain things it cannot explain by translating them into what it has experience of.

I wrote my books because I wanted to. Publishing agents felt they were ‘cross-genre’ so I went the self publishing route. Some of my favourite authors have done that and I see no practical difference. However I never did any marketing or publicising of my work. Now my children have persuaded me it is time I made it known more widely and welcomed new readers and new feedback.

These days I call it Worldsmithing — building whole worlds, one story at a time.
