The Revolution In Structural Dynamics

Rate this book
This book deals with historical cases of problems in the structural design of aircraft, missiles, spacecraft and long-span bridges where unique problems were encountered in the aeroelastic or dynamic responses of the flexible structures. More than thirty cases are presented from the Wright Brothers to the Saturn rocket. The book is dedicated to Professor Raymond L. Bisplinghoff (1917-1985), who was an international icon in the field of structural dynamics. Chapter 1 is his Gardner Lecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1984, "The History of Aeroelasticity."
