(176 pgs.) I enjoyed this book. I didn't realize that the pony express only existed for about a year and a half. I learned a lot from this book, too. It was a quick read. I found the pony express covers in the front pocket of the book very interesting because I am a stamp collector. (The pocket mistakenly is labeled "copies of letters delivered by the pony express." The pocket does NOT contain copies of the letters but of the envelopes of letters delivered by the pony express. Stamp collectors call "envelopes" covers. Pony Express letters were written on pre-stamped tissue paper that could be purchased at the post office. These were folded with the cover on the outside. Sometimes, rarely, a Pony Express stamp is also on the cover.)I would recommend this book. NOTE: Mochila is a spanish word meaning "leather made." The mochila was a large piece of leather, with a letter box dangling from each of its four corners. A slit at the front of the mochila fit over the saddle horn and another slit at the back fit over the cantle.
