What do you do when you’re at the top of the playground slide but not quite ready to go down yet? Friends are lining up behind you and the pressure is on . . .
Here’s the perfect book for anyone who’s ever been afraid to go into the deep end, off the high dive, or go down the big slide. Come on—slide, already!
Children will be drawn to the bold, cheerful art and the soft, puffy cover. The rounded corners and strong paper stock will make it difficult for children to rip.
this book is about a very bossy and exuberant girl who hangs around a bunch of guys and eventually makes them all go down the slide, even the one who is very scared.
and they have as much fun as the village people:
when greg read this book with me before, he said the girl reminded him of me. i think because she is so pretty. because it could not be the bossy thing.
here are some shouting pictures of shouty things she says:
and the point of all of this is to reassure greg:
i know you are scared to take over the world's best fiction section when i leave. but, like the cowardly boy who didn't want to go down the slide, it all worked out and everyone had a fun time.
you can do it!! and it is okay to be scared!! they are big shoes to fill.
besides, what's the worst thing that could happen???
This is Asher's favorite book. We had checked it out from the library, but I knew it had to be added to our personal collection the evening I was preparing dinner and Kaia & Asher were quoting the book to each other from memory!
Awesome! Ran into this one in Access Services to be repaired. It made me laugh out loud and reminded me of how strange and new the world is when you are young (well, actually it still is strange and new).
