A little elephant wanders through the jungle wondering what colour love could be. Is it pink?, he asks the flamingo. Is it yellow?, he asks the lion. But of course there is only one person who really knows the answer, and that's Mum!
This is a story about a baby elephant's quest to find out what the colour of love is. He meets a lot of animals on the way. It's brilliantly vibrant illustrations captivate the very young. As the title suggests, children learn about colours. The story has a delightful rhythm with repetition and words that rhyme with the names of different colours. For slightly older children it encourages participation as they try and guess the colour of love. Ideally suited as a book to be read to children in the EYFS, confident readers in KS1 would enjoy reading it themselves. I enjoyed reading this book to my 4 year old. I think it is wonderful. All the more so becaue she loves it too.
Beautiful book. Read this book to children on placement and they really engaged with it. Children had fun listening to the rhymes within the book and liked the repetition. Alongside reading the book children liked to do animals noises which got them even more excited to listen and read the book.
