Dani Wyatt has done it again. Omg. This is one of many of her books that have sucked me in and kept me reading until the very last page. I binge read this in just a few hours, and I'm so glad I did!
This book had one hell of a prologue. Two years ago, Kat caught Trent having alone time in the shower. Before then, the only feelings she had towards her stepbrother were platonic and she viewed him as her hero.

He's her big brother and her Daddy at the same time.
Well, first of all, that was hot as hell. Woof. This author really knows how to play around with the tropes & kinks. Plus, the overprotectiveness that comes along with the alpha hero didn't annoy me too much in this one, unlike my previous read. The heroine in this one? Could be better but at least she got more going on about her than just a pretty face. The plot? What plot? I'm here for the smut haha. But honestly, there was a plot with a 'stalker' from the past but it was not really built really well and was just there as cosmetics if you ask me.
But the smut is nice. The taboo aspect of it was really nice. All my favourite kinks were done well without being cringey and MUCH over the top as I want. So yeah, this is one of the good ones I think.

Loved it!! So much sex and dirty talk. But first, a quick recap.....
Trent (hot as f*ck military sniper-ish) has been in love with his step-sister, Kat (not sure about her) since they were young, and she's been in love with him too. He's left for the military and she's at home with their parents when tragedy strikes. Their parents died and because of other circumstances, she's left with nothing. She doesn't want to worry him while he's on a mission, so she keeps that info to herself. She also doesn't tell him about the Russian that's been threatening her. Trent comes home and surprise.... he's rich. He's also ready to claim her. Holy f*ck it's hot. There's sooooooo much dirty talk! Absolutely LOVED it, even the cringey parts. Trent is aggressive, possessive, obsessive, everything you want in a primitive alpha! Yummy.
Possible triggers I mean you know it's a step-sibling romance. He wants Kat to call him Daddy. There's spanking and punishment. He has violent tendencies, but not toward her.
Only irritant I had was the plot. The Russian guy was ok, but it could have included better details. Then, at the beginning she talked about how she worked in a strip club and that her brother would be pissed. But that never developed. I thought it was a missed opportunity.

DNF 70% i was just done with all the cringes stuffs in it.
I was just done with the Daddy b*llshit to much for my licking and also i couldn't enjoy it because he was her step brother all her life, and all of sudden he starts calling himself daddy which was so weird.
Also i was so done with this h, she granted on my nerves, she was annoyng.
At the end of it i was bored and i refused to continue the reading even if i was almost at the end.

Dani Wyatt returns with a brand new story called Step-Hero, a forbidden romance between step-siblings in the
Wanting What's Wrong
series and it was incredibly dirty and steamy. Trent and Kat had so much sexual tension and chemistry. While their romance and entanglement with each other was the main focal point of the story, I really liked that there was an additional suspenseful element to it as well with Kat's stalker. The book felt longer, which I appreciated because it allowed for some additional character development for Trent and Kat. Despite their status as "siblings," they were anything but that. Trent and Kat have had feelings for each other but they never acted on it—until he eventually returned from deployment two years later. All bets were off once he reunited with her because she was simply his.
Dani simply excels at writing forbidden and taboo romance and this story was certainly no exception. I was shocked and blushed at some of the scenes Trent and Kat had because he was ready to give her everything—including himself and all the darkness inside of him. Their coupling was intense, erotic, and filthy. After coming back from deployment, Trent had become even more possessive, dominant, and obsessed with Kat. These two burned up the pages with their intensity and moments together. Although I had some frustrations with Kat because she was keeping some major secrets from Trent, specifically her stalker and the one behind her parents' death, I also sympathized with her struggle, guilt, and shame.
In the end, this was a strong introduction to Dani Wyatt's brand new forbidden/taboo series and I absolutely can't wait to read Step-Bully next. I do want to note that this book does contain the DDLG kink so if you're not into that, I would avoid this book. However, if you do not care about this, you will be satisfied with Trent and Kat's book because it was fast-pace, romantic, suspenseful, and smutty. I highly recommend this book if you like the age-gap and taboo romance with a dominant and possessive hero who is completely devoted and in love with his sweet and equally devoted heroine.

Wow, this book made me so uncomfortable which it is something that rarely happens. However, there were soooooo many issues with the book that it was bound to happen.
Here is a small list of my ✨issues✨
1. This quote:
WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU COMPARING YOURSELF TO A RAPIST!?!?
When I tell you this quote made me so uncomfortable that I almost DNFed the book right then and there, but I decided to push through (my mistake)
2. The MMC was pushing his daddy kink on the FMC, and I believe a hammer would've been more receptive to it. Even if the author made it look like it was arousing her to think and call her step-bro, "daddy", it still seemed like she was being pushed to do it. In my opinion, reading about a kink is much more enjoyable when both people are actually ENJOYING IT. 😮💨
3. Not using a safe word during impact play, and not even checking in on the FMCs during those moments. How hard is it to just add a couple of lines discussing safe play practice!?
4. MMC saying that the FMC is having "a little tantrum" is SO FUCKING RUDE, especially when she's trying to convey her feelings.
5. Sometimes I feel like the MMC was hard or lowkey aggressive towards the FMC.
Basically, I should've DNFed it and this book was just no it

Holy mother of nature! This was so taboo. Forbidden yet you would desire for more of h and H. Definitely one, if not my favorite novel made by Dani Wyatt so far. The taboo aspect was well done here. The thrill, the burning passion. The push and pull, oh hell, it was done great. And it was dual virgins!! yeep. was sold me with the trope. Sign me tf up.

Reading a random book that pops on my feed Series 1
I will start with what was wrong
+ "Tears stream down her cheeks and i take her like an animal, savage like a fucking rapist."
excuse me???? savage like what?
We would have done without lines like that.
+ The fact that they were step siblings since they were very young and lived together as siblings, we also could have done without that piece of information.
+ The Daddy kink that came out of no freaking where??
+ The constant use of my sister/my brother was very off putting, like alright tone it down, we don't need the constant reminder

What was actually good
The smut was smuting, it was actually good, and the tension was in fact tensioning and i think the writer is good at writing these.
If we had a few things off the what's wrong list, like the constant siblings reminder and the rapist comment, this would have been a fun 4 stars just bc of the tension and the smut delivery but alas....
I will start with what was wrong
+ "Tears stream down her cheeks and i take her like an animal, savage like a fucking rapist."
excuse me???? savage like what?
We would have done without lines like that.
+ The fact that they were step siblings since they were very young and lived together as siblings, we also could have done without that piece of information.
+ The Daddy kink that came out of no freaking where??
+ The constant use of my sister/my brother was very off putting, like alright tone it down, we don't need the constant reminder

Well, damn.
Kat and Trent🔥 Trent was possibly the most consuming man that Dani has written yet! He was perfectly over the top, and I do mean OVER. There is the slight taboo of “step” but it didn’t feel as scandalous for some reason, probably because these books have ruined me morally 😂🤷🏼♀️ I honestly wish we got a scene where Trent found out about Kay’s job because he would have gone full psycho. Knowing that not one person can touch her and how he was to his friend 👨🏻🍳💋 I love that they got their HEA and I swear you could fill many MANY books about the steam they got up to over the years because we know it’ll never diminish! Looking forward to the next read already!

October 13, 2022I may not be in the right mindset to enjoy this book - I typically enjoy scenes like the opening one, but some of the author's descriptions pulled me out of the moment and I just couldn't take it seriously. I tried to keep going, but it just didn't work for me. DNF at 23%.

Well that’s just too bad because you didn’t bother to have a single conversation about your kink with her, what daddy wants daddy gets and all that shite 🤢
