Ireland's most volatile celebrity broadcaster, Kevin Carver is a superstar. He isn't just a good host – he's a great one. But his producer, Lee Lovecraft, has a feeling that things are about to go horribly wrong ... "Stephen Price’s Monkey Man is a riot, an utterly incredible account of the relationship between an obnoxious television host and idealistic turned hedonist producer…the scenes and character portraits are uncannily accurate." The Last Word, Today FM (National Irish radio)

Interesting portrayal of boom Celtic Tiger Ireland and the media in Dublin. It's fun trying to guess who the story is based on (if anyone) as the author worked in the media in Dublin. It's quite dark but I found it different and well worth the read.

This is a really interesting book that has been sitting on my shelf for ages - it was published about 10 years ago or more. The story is about a young man who lands a supposedly dream job as a producer for a new TV show. The problem is that the host (The Monkey man of the title) is the most obnoxious asshole one could ever hope to meet and so things do not go smoothly forcing Lee to take drastic action.
