⭐️USA Today Bestseller⭐️ Ashley Farley writes heartfelt stories about women navigating life’s challenges. Her characters—mothers, daughters, sisters, and wives—face real-life struggles with resilience and grace. Best known for her Sweeney Sisters series, Ashley’s books have touched the hearts of readers far and wide.
A wife and mother of two young adults, for more than two decades, Ashley has split her time between Richmond and the Northern Neck of Virginia. Yet, a piece of her heart will always belong to the South Carolina Lowcountry, where she draws inspiration from the moss-draped oaks, coastal cuisine, and the warm, welcoming spirit of its people.
You can always depend on an Ashley Farley book. She's one of my go-to authors when I need a good story with a happily ever after ending. Her characters are always well written and feel like people I know and her books are just plain fun.
This story gets us re-acquainted with some of the characters in Ashley's previous books but it is mainly abut Annie and Cooper. Annie has fallen in love with Tyler but is it really love or the fact that he is rich and she can finally achieve her dreams. But is it worth it when his friends and family treat her as 'less than' since she isn't from a family with money. When she goes to an art exhibit, she realizes that the artist is her old boyfriend Cooper. Cooper would love to win her back but she continues her relationship with Tyler. She runs a catering company with her mother and Tyler is very unhappy with the amount of time she spends on her career. He was just not a very nice person and didn't have much going for him except for his money. Can Cooper win back Annie? The other main characters are Brooke and Grady. They were friends in high school and as they begin to spend time together, their relationship starts to grow. But Brooke is hiding a big secret from him and is unsure of how he'll react when he finds out. A weekend house party on Sullivan’s Island will become the changing point for both couples as secrets are revealed and everything that can go wrong, does. Will the couples solve their differences and end up together? Will Annie see that Tyler is just using her or will she overlook his faults and continue her relationship with him or turn to Cooper who really loves her?
I really liked Annie, Cooper and Brooke. Tyler was a rich kid with no regard for anyone. Once again the author brings her readers very real characters who we can identify with. This is a romance but more importantly it's about family and the importance of family ties.
I’m so glad to see Ashley returning to writing about the Sweeney family. Many are all adults now with their own lives and drama. Relationships that once were are teetering and falling and some reuniting. Drama, bullies, stalking and baby talk all make up this segment. The author writes where I can feel the salt air and taste all the scrumptious food. A favorite author where I always look forward to her next book.
After reading an Ashley Farley book I say to myself how does she do it!? How does she make me fall in love with a book and say this is her best one yet? Because I say it every time, I read a book by Ashley Farley. Her books are well written and pull you into the story so much so that it's like a running movie in my head. I picture the characters and the scenery. Speaking of the scenery, it makes me miss the low country of South Carolina so much. We used to vacation in Myrtle Beach and visited Charleston a few times so to read about the low country my heart expands so much. Ashley makes it hard to not get in the car and drive to Charleston just so I could get my fill of the city. So thank you Ashley Farley for bringing me back to the low country even if it is in books.
What can I say about "Weekend on Sullivan's Island" but I HIGHLY recommend it. You won't regret picking up this book. While it can read as a standalone you really should get "After the Storm" because that book introduces you to the next generation of The Sweeney's. And you'll understand this book more.
I'm so glad Cooper got his story. He has gone through so much and he has closed himself off from others. But a gallery showing off Cooper's paintings has put him into the path of Annie, a ex-girlfriend from school days, and he wants to get her back. So does Annie's and Cooper's mothers want the two of them together but there is one problem...Annie has a self-centered boyfriend. Will Cooper win Annie over or will she stay with the overbearing rich boy?
Brooke is carrying her sister's baby and she has connected with her high school best friend Grady. Brooke being a lesbian she doesn't think anything of their friendship but her emotions and feelings are all over the place. Someone else from Brooke's past will come back and it won't be good! Will she turn to Grady for more than friendship? You'll have to read the book to find out!
Again, Ashley Farley has outdone herself with this book! Absolutely LOVED it and it deserves more than a 5 star rating! HIGHLY recommend!!
Weekend on Sullivan's Island, continues with the next generation, of the Sweeney Sisters. The Sweeney Sisters captured my heart, and reading this story, is like going back to the place the rejuvenates my soul. Annie, Cooper, and Brooke are young adults, creating their journeys. They have lots to figure out, lessons to be learned, and discovering their paths. They have the support of their family, who try not to interfere too much, including a ghost, that helps guide her daughter. The spirit of the Sweeney family, is as strong as it always was, and they face what life brings into their lives, and see where life is taking them. I received an ARC from Ashley Farley.
I devoured this book in 24 hrs. I enjoy Ashley's novels so much. If you enjoy clean, wholesome novels, then she is the author for you!
Weekend on Sullivan's Island will make you feel like you're right there watching this play out in real time. We all know people like Tyler, Lia & and their mother.
My heart went out to Brooke for all that she deals with and the sacrifices she makes to help those that she loves. Sawyer had me on edge the entire time.
I just love Cooper. He's had his fair share of hurt and trauma, but he's working on it, and he's getting there. I love how protective he is over those he loves!
I can't wait to see where this story continues to take all of these characters that have become like friends. Ashley does a fantastic job of giving us real and raw scenarios that reel us in and refuse to let go.
Thank you, Ashley, for continuing to write the stories that warm our hearts, keep us on the edge of our seats, and leave us wanting more.
I was gifted this book as an ARC and I am ever so grateful! I loved the Sweeney Sisters stories, so was looking forward to this novel. When I started, I realized I did not remember as much of the original Sweeney Sisters as I had thought. But no worries! Even though there are ties, this is also a great stand alone of growing up and dealing with life's ups and downs. A great read, definitely had to think on it before moving to my next book.
I absolutely adored reading Weekend on Sullivan's Island written by Ashley Farley. It is a standalone novel from The Sweeney Sister's series. This book was like visiting old friends. It also reminded me why I love Ms. Farley's writing. The characters always manage to triumph through their emotional and relationship demons. This book is uplifting. The main characters, Annie and Brooke went through so much trauma in their relationships and were both able to find happiness. I love that Cooper's story was included. It's nice to read about a male character dealing with emotional and psychological baggage, who also triumphs in the end! Ms. Farley's dogs, Emmie and Willa, make an appearance, along with characters from the original Sweeney Sisters series! Thanks to Ms. Farley for the ARC!
My “Weekend on Sullivan’s Island” was fabulous and I hope you’ll enjoy yours too! I had such a fun visit with all of these characters and finding out how their lives are panning out. Some are having some problems and some are going along just fine. Just what you might think. Let me tell you, this is not a boring book. Ashley Farley keeps us on our toes as we enjoy our Weekend on Sullivan’s Island.
Apparently, this book and After the Storm are stand alone novels and not part of a series but, they read as a series. I don’t know if this was overlooked while posting on Amazon. Ms. Farley was in the middle of a life changing move as this book was making its way to our hands. I think there is more to the story to come so I’m hoping we are going to at least get another book with these lovely characters. I have really enjoyed them. They are the children of a previous series that I have not read yet and I find that is not necessary. I am looking forward to going back to reading that series too.
This is also one of those authors for me that is a go to when looking for something great to read. I don’t need to read the synopsis on her new books that are coming out to know it will be something that I will enjoy. She writes some of the best characters and her settings are always something to look forward to. The storylines are often intricate but they are not hard to follow.
Ashley Farley is an accomplished writer with a huge selection of books to choose from. If you haven’t read anything by her, I highly recommend any of her books although there are many I haven’t read yet. She never disappoints me. I highly recommend a Weekend on Sullivan’s Island! Until next time…Happy Reading!
Don’t forget to support the authors you read by leaving a review!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not required to leave a review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Once again, Ashley has written another book about the beloved Sweeney family. This series focuses on the next generation, who are now adults. There are many facets to this intriguing, often emotional, beautiful, heartfelt story.
Connor’s business is doing very well and, he has become an accomplished artist, even having his paintings featured at an inaugural gallery opening. Annie and her boyfriend, Tyler, attend the opening, and when Connor sees Annie, his former high school girlfriend, he knows in his heart, he must win her back. Tyler, however, is one of the most eligible bachelors in Charleston and comes from a very wealthy, prominent family. Annie regularly goes above and beyond to please Tyler, despite his frequent criticism of her, and complaints about the long hours she works in her catering business. As a result, Annie tries harder to please him and even considers giving up her dream career.
A big weekend is planned to celebrate Tyler’s thirtieth birthday on Sullivan’s Island. Annie’s unexpected role places her in the kitchen preparing all the meals while the others enjoy many fun activities on the sand and in the water. The weekend of turbulence proves to be just what Annie needs to make an important decision.
As a result of an emergency hysterectomy, Lizbet and her husband Jamie no longer can have the family they always planned for. Lizbet’s sister, Brooke, however, offers to give them a precious gift. Brooke also makes a startling discovery about herself when she renews her friendship with Grady, a high school friend, who moves back home. The unexpected friendship quickly becomes very important to both.
Once again, I am emerged into the family drama and celebrations of this kindhearted, lovable southern family. Each time I read one of Ashley’s books, it feels like I have had a visit at home too.
Weekend on Sullivan’s Island is another amazing book by Ashley Farley! It’s been over three years since I first read the Sweeney sisters series, and it’s been five years since I first fell in love with Ashley’s writing! Even though it’s been three years, the characters really come right back to me.
One thing guaranteed with Ashley’s books – she will give you someone to hate – and in this book, it was Tyler! You find yourself pulling for Annie to just dump this guy and get back with Cooper who loves her so much! Tyler was all wrong for Annie in many ways and you just hope she sees the light!
Brooke is going through some changes in her love life, as well as helping her sister Lizbet with a life changing decision. She has put her life on hold for her sister in this book while navigating her own needs and desires.
The love of family is something that is always in Ashley’s books. It is basically – family first – and don’t hurt them or you’re dealing with ME! I love the drama and conflict and also that the characters are down-to-earth and you are always pulling for a happy outcome for them!
It’s always a pleasure to receive an ARC from Ashley!
I think I've read every one of Ashley's books and I have loved them all! I love her characters, her settings, and the love and drama that comes with each story.
Weekend on Sullivan's Island was another wonderful escape from my real world and I enjoyed every minute of it. There were some people I fell in love with and some people I just loved to hate. Why do people have to be so mean?
I always devour Ashley's stories and then get sad when it's over. The characters and the storylines stay with me because they all come to feel like friends and I care about what happens to them. I always get super excited for her next book!
Weekend on Sullivan's Island is the perfect summery beach read right now. I mean, with a cover like this one, how can it not be? You will love the story inside the cover just as much as I did. It's very character driven with just the right amount of love and affection but with enough drama to keep it exciting and page-turning. Check it out and enjoy!
I have read almost every book that Ashely Farley has written. I enjoyed them all. Weekend at Sullivan’s Island did not disappoint me in any way. In this story, Ms. Farley continues exploring the lives of characters we have met in previous books. I love this! With her way of writing the reader gets to know the characters and become part of their lives.
Cooper, Annie, and Brooke are once again brought to life. Will Cooper get back together with Annie? Will Annie stay in her toxic relationship with Tyler? Will Brooke get together with Grady? A weekend on Sullivan’s Island will answer all of these questions.
This is a stand-alone novel. You don’t have to read the previous books first. But, as always when you return to beloved characters, it helps to know their background. So, why not read After the Storm first.
I was caught up in this story and could hardly stop reading once I started! I enjoyed the different issues addressed so delicately with the Sweeney family and their friends. True life in many ways.
There is a thirtieth weekend birthday bash coming up on Sullivan's Island for Tyler, who is turning thirty. Everyone has been invited so it will be an incredible celebration! However, as Tyler is not my favorite here, I will tell you- I really did not want to attend.
It is quite the party and so much drama happens when there is a lot "partying"! Wait and see!
This is a quick, absorbing, emotional story that I really, really loved. The character's could have been anyone we know and that is due to the intricate details written by Ashley Farley who never disappoints. Thank you for this ARC and allowing me to read and provide my own review! I cannot wait for the next one!
Best-selling author Ashley Farley is back with a new release that is full of intense drama! The young Sweeney clan struggles to find their significant others and wonders if one weekend spent on Sullivan’s Island at a house party will reveal their feelings about those they are dating/wish they were dating. As they plan for the weekend, Annie and Tyler, Brooke and Grady, and Cooper and Lia all have different reasons for going. Farley’s plot is intense and keeps you glued to the pages to see what will happen next. True personalities will be revealed, and hearts will be broken. Real love persists, stands the test of time, overcomes all obstacles, and finally be enjoyed by one couple. Could there be something more for another couple? This is another high-stakes drama by author Ashley Farley.
Another great read from a wonderful author. Well developed characters (some you’ll recognize from other books and if you haven’t read them yet, what are you waiting for?), and well developed, realistic compelling storyline. Family, friendships old and new, romances old and new, secrets, love, loss, broken hearts, unsupportive jerky partners with enough red flags for a parades worth of people, betrayal, wanting and wondering what if, following your dreams, and more make for a roller coaster of emotions and an engaging and wonderful read. I love the authors style of writing and enjoyed every moment of the book. Cant wait for what comes next!
I received a copy of this book courtesy of the author and publisher. It did not impact my reviews. I love this author and her work.
WEEKEND ON SULLIVAN’S ISLAND is the latest spin-off story from Ashley Farley’s highly popular Sweeney Sisters series. The latest books feature the next generation, but many of her beloved Sweeney Sisters characters make welcome appearances. The books can be read as stand-alones, but you will definitely want read the previous books for enjoyment and background. This story is focused on Annie, Cooper and Brooke. Annie is now in a relationship with Tyler and thinks she is in love, but Tyler’s friends and family and even Tyler himself treat Annie as an unworthy outsider. Tensions build, secrets are exposed and drama ensues. How will the events of the weekend affect everyone there? You will have to read WEEKEND ON SULLIVAN’S ISLAND to find out. This is another engrossing and emotional story from Ashley Farley that is not to be missed! Thank you to the author for the chance to read and review an early copy.
I just love Ashley Farley's Books. They just pull you in right from the start. Weekend on Sullivan's Island brings us back to the Sweeney's, this time the sisters children. This story continues Lizbets issues she has and her husband, Jamie. Lizbets sister Brooke and Brookes big decision she makes along with re-uniting with her best friend Grady and realizing she may not be gay after all. Then there is Anne and Cooper and Anne's current boyfriend Tyler. I just love all of them and really felt their heartbreak. This was a great read and hope the Sweeney's continue.
The author gives her readers another story in her Sweeny Sisters world with characters we've met and new ones (some you just want to smack upside the head, seriously!). There are storylines that are continued and new ones, you also get a little bit of the past for a few. Others are realizing there's more to themselves and family as always is playing a part. It's a story you can't put down once you start, a definite must read!
I really enjoyed the continuing of the Sullivan's Island series. Brooke, Annie, and Cooper were a pleasure to read and root for them with all they went through. I look forward to spending more time with these characters and finding out what is next in their lives!
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
A fictional story that glimpses into the lives of some of Charleston's elite and also, the not so elite. I enjoy how the author weaves well known landmarks and other sites of the Lowcountry into the story. Self-worth, family stresses, medical issues, friendships, and more are all included in this great read. I received a complimentary copy of the book. No review was required.
Ashley Farley never disappoints. This book once you start you can’t put down and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Definitely a nail biter. The characters are so real. Im so attached to this family. I laugh with them, cry with them and feel all the emotions they go through. Ashley writes so well that you are just pulled in and you feel like you are a part of the family.
Yet another 5 Star book from this author. I’m always happy to get a new one from her. But I do have to say there’s one character in this one that I wanted to grab and shake for being so naive. I’m sure I’m not the only one? I guess that’s the sign of a very talented author when they can make you feel that way about their characters.
Another great novel by Ashley Farley! The setting is on east coast as usual. Its another beautifully written story that grabs you and keeps you enthralled throughout the whole book! Ending will make you feel good! A must read! It'll make you want to read more of her books if you enjoy books that make you feel as a part of story or make you feel good.
I’m generally a fan of Ashley Farley’s books. Overall, it was a good read. I think that the Brook gay to straight story line was offensive to the gay community. In my opinion it felt like Brook was just dating women until the “right man” came along. I hope that wasn’t the message that Ms.Farley intended. FYI- I’m not gay and have been married to the same man for 40+ years.

If the reader wants a book with a happy ending, then this one is for them. Even though the book is well written, I did not enjoy the book. i don't know why I bought the book since I do not like romance. However, the story is light heartedand and a quick read. Sometimes I need something less challenging to read.
I can’t wait to get back to Charleston and Sullivans Island. This book made me fwwl like I was really there. I love the writings of Ashley Farley, she keeps you captivated and it’s had to put her books down. I usually finish one within a 24 hour period.
This book and the one before it were absolutely un put downable, if that’s a word. I was so sad when it ended. Ashley Farley is one of my very favorite authors. She knows how to tell a story that gets to your heart.
So happy to be reunited with the Sweeney Family and friends! Ashley does a great job of bringing the Low-country to life and making us care even more the the beloved folks of Prospect and Charleston. I can’t recommend Ashley Farley books enough!
I loved the characters in this book many that I remember from other series. I recommend Ashley's books to all my friends & family that enjoy reading. I would love to see The Sweeney Sisters series or Hallmark!
Love the low country stories. The characters jump off the page as you get to know them. If you haven't read the books/series of Ashley Farley your missing out. Always waiting for the next one.
