While it is, on the surface, a straightforward piece of academic research, I found it to be deeply profound in many places and the overall message and mission of the book really resonated with me. It pitches a framework (or 'map') for finding meaning within our work and careers and provides numerous exercises, case studies, and insights from the researchers as to how to better maintain a sense of purpose within our everyday working lives. While it definitely didn't need to be as long as it was, I still look forward to revisiting it, undertaking the exercises, and using the map to see where the next phase of my professional life may potentially take me.

Enjoyed reading and taking the introduction webinar of this very insightful and well presented book with stories and examples. Was struggling about my purpose about writing my second book on family home caregiving book. The first a memoir - Lasting Touch - while the second, a teaching memoir, is a compendium of all my insights, learning, and discoveries linked to aging in place comfortably in the home of one's choice.
This book guided me and the map of meaning is on my office wall as a constant reminder. If you are lost and stuck, this book might be the answer.

Probably decent for workshop setting. Very inciteful, but a lot of repetition. Definitely a thought provoker that provides a map to making work meaningful.
