This account traces the history of the translation of the Bible into the English language. "The Anglo-Saxon and early English versions have first to be noticed, tracing what appears to have been done prior to the days of then the version of Wiclif, its causes and a century and a half later, the labours of Tyndale and Coverdale have to be especially rested on, and, subsequently, the various versions executed up to the year 1611 (King James Version)."
