Misanthropes and misfits.

Society’s loners observing, and in some cases, changing the status quo.

An agoraphobic woman is forced to face a ruined world after months of isolation.

A father faces the death of a child in a world where genetic perfection has done away with such traumas.

A lovelorn man searches for the perfect woman and, ultimately, finds himself.

A nameless drifter absorbs people’s pain, the filth rotting their souls, until one day he can no longer bear this burden alone.

In these and many more stories, Glen Krisch crosses genres, disrupts and disfigures them, until something entirely its own rises from this alchemical brew.

A collection of my best short stories from the last 20 years or so.

This is a fantastic collection! Glen Krisch understands what it means to be an outsider looking in at society. These stories beautifully convey the sense of alienation one feels being the stranger in a crowd. The voices of the lost and the lonely ring clear here, speaking to, and from, the heart. Wherever Mr. Krisch goes from here, you better believe I'm going along for the ride! Highly recommended!

An excellent collection of both post-apocolyptic and sci-fi stories all completely original and intruigingly put together. This is a collection that will get you thinking. All stories are short enough for quick reads on you 15 minute breaks or anytime you just need a quick fix.

The speculative fiction collection contains a mix of horror and science fiction, and is highlighted by several post-apocalyptic stories, framing the mind of tainted individuals, comparing how their outlook on life and love have forever been changed.

Krisch is one of the most exciting new voices to have appeared in recent years. A distinctively modern style, yet I found myself reminded of masters like Bradbury.

After reading The Nightmare Within and Where Darkness Dwells (which is one of my favorite novels) I decided to try this short story anthology. Like most anthologies, there were stories I really enjoyed, and a couple I didn't care for at all, and some that were in between. There was less pure horror than I expected, but overall an entertaining book.
