Plot summary: Daniel Hubble is found abandoned in the lion's cage at the circus as a baby. Ten years later, he discovers that he has the power to see into the future. Kidnapped by accident, Daniel must use his powers and his street smarts to escape his captors and find his way home.

Thoughts: Eh. It was like a cross between Oliver Twist and Kidnapped, but without the appeal of either. It never quite delivered on anything for my liking - the seeing into the future thing was a bit of a deus ex machina, we know from the start who Daniel's family turn out to be, and Daniel seems to flip-flop between acting like a ten year old and acting like a fifteen year old. It was okay. It just felt kind of choppy - like the author had a bunch of individual scenes in mind when he started writing, and then went back and joined them together afterwards.

A thrilling adventure. Aimed at older children, but well-written and challenging.
