Initial pre-start thought: Here we go, the one I wanted to read.
Initial afterthought: 5 stars...shit, it's how late?
This one popped up in the Goodreads recs...because you were are reading...I'm still reading that book, but it's found me some good shit. Of course it's a second book so I had to read the first where the characters are introduced. This one is all about Brooke, Harrison and Daegan. Firstly, Harrison was an idiot from the get go. Lack of communication and trusting his girlfriend's stepmother about a sex tape? The following bull with the bullying and it's no surprise he lost the girl.
I liked Daegan. He was sweet, mature and although the age gap did creep me out a little, he was a better fit than the son. Of course it doesn't matter because its MFM and down the rabbit hole to rough sex. There are some Iffy moments with Harrison's friend Ev, wasn't a fan of that. Otherwise it's one woman getting what she wants, father and son. I don't usually like the manipulative characters but this one was fun. Slight inkling of a mistaken suicide attempt, some sort of dogging exhibition show in the epilogue, a fraudulent stepmother and a lying mother. I lost track of time reading this one so yeah, 5 stars. Onto the halloween novella.

I absolutely loved this book. I think this is the best book that Layla has written. MFM and holy hell was it 🥵🥵🥵 and so taboo.
There is so much drama in this book (that’s a good thing) and I love the light banter.
I definitely suggest stat with reading Your Loss and Lesson Learned for extra world and character building.
I really love how all of the characters developed so much from their appearances in previous books.

Well that was 🔥🔥🔥, a MFM book with a forbidden side. Brooke is a very strong minded FMC, she certainly takes whatever she wants and anything that can't be taken she buys, that being said she has a huge heart and fights for those she loves! Harrison is a sweetheart and absolutely melted me. Daegan well he's just 🔥. The plot and world building is perfect with the right amount of spice thrown in. I loved the story line and can't wait to read the next.

ARC REVIEW:
This is my first book by this author, and was pleasantly surprised. The writing was fantastic. And the beginning, I couldn’t tell where the book was going (which is a good thing). The only thing I was hesitant about was Harrison’s behavior during school, which he is a senior in HS. I find it hard to believe he could get away with EVERYTHING he did without a teacher noticing? I was looking forward to more $mut scenes with Harrison and Daegan 😫 would recommend for a quick read though

Well. Brooke’s boyfriend breaks up with her. Without an explanation. Then humiliates her in the cafeteria of their school by saying that he broke up with her because she was bad in bed.
What does she do?
Hires a professional 😅 why not? When you’re having a problem with math you hire a math tutor. Why not hire a sex worker when you’re having a problem with sex? 🤷♀️

I’ve never thought that I would say this about a book. But the smut… It was to much! It was a very thin line between dub/con. So thin that it felt more like rape than dubious consent. Maybe if it was written a little bit differently… That’s why this is a 3.5 stars for me and not more.

✨Daddy Vibes! Dark and Spicy!✨
This is my first book by Layla and it did not disappoint! Daddy vibes by literally Daddy 😋. Spicy scene were 5* and I loved that there was a plot!! The only reason I gave it 4 is because I had a harder time with Brooke (FMC) and Harrison (ex bf). I felt like her and Harrison were a little too bratty. Definite fan if Deagan! I will definitely read other books by Layla! 🙌🏼

I could not put this book down , it showered with me ate with me slept with me (when I forced myself to put it down) hands down an amazing book and great plot. Why can’t this be a movie …. It needs to be a movie.
Perfect amount of spice all around. The strong female vibe was amazing plus daegan I mean who wouldn’t sex an ex’s dad if he was that good. The end though had me. I didn’t expect it but it was amazing. Hands down I cannot wait for the next.

I read this book in 5 hours! I could not put it down! Now I am all pissed off it's done. Pissed off it was soooo gooood I don't have anymore to read about Harrison, Brooke, and Degan. It's just so disappointing when they are that good you can't put them down but then they are done! 5 stars! I'd give it 4 🌶🌶🌶🌶 on spice. The story definitely made those 4 burn like 5 though.

My first ARC read & first book by Layla!
Honestly, if I could give this book more stars I would. The spice level is like no other book I have read so far. I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire time wondering what was going to happen next. The plot is very good. Definitely obsessed with Daegan. There is so much I could say, but then my review would contain spoilers. All I can say is read the book!!!! You will not be disappointed.

Not sure where to start here. I guess at the beginning?
Brooke and Harrison are seniors in high school. Both 18. Brooke recently gave her virginity to Harrison and she's madly in love with him. But he unexpectedly dumps her one day without explanation. As she fluctuates between shock and grief, he and his friends bully her at school and eventually he does something to shame and embarrass her in front of everyone and her grief and shock give way to anger.
So what's a very rich, unsupervised teenager girl to do? Hire Harrison's dad as a sex teacher and prom date to get revenge. And it was all fine and well until feelings started getting involved.
And that's the basic premise. There is a lot more to it and a number of twists and turns, some I didn't see coming, but I won't spoil it for you.
The Words "dark romance" are in the title and I suggest you take heed. I'm still trying to decipher what qualified as dark more...the kink they were into or the fact that a father and son engage in sexual situations together the way they did. I have read reverse harems with brothers, which is always kinda ick for me...but a parent and child definitely pushed the boundaries of what I could comfortably handle.
Also, ESH aka everybody sucks here. The main female character doesn't seem to have a single redeeming quality that I could find. She's not kind, she's not very loving, she doesn't give or sacrifice much, she is like Sarah Michelle Gellers character in Cruel Intentions. Rich, spoiled, without limits or remorse. What she did was appalling.
Daegan knew he was a grown man, noticed the red flags, and continued anyway, despite being aware this was an 18 year old girl with glaring issues, and even after learning her connection to his son.
And Harrison reacted and behaved the way a child would, rather consistently.
Despite all this, I believe the dysfunction and toxicity was central to what can only be described as a wicked debauchery filled ride of a story. It's clearly made to push your boundaries, your comfort levels, your list of triggers.
The heat/spice was detailed, kinky and intense. Easily a 🌶🌶🌶🌶/🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
All in all, it was exactly what it was supposed to be.

I understood where she was coming from and how things had played out for her up until the point where she's getting turned on when her ex is threatening to blind her with a knife pointing at her eye, and even more so when he offers her to his friend while he's forcing himself on her.

This book was heavy on the plot and heavy on the spice and I loved every dirty, delicious detail of it.
When Brooke’s boyfriend Harrison suddenly dumps her and then starts to bully her she’s completely lost and doesn’t know why. When he calls into question her sexual abilities and appearance - something she’s already feeling vulnerable about she decides to hire some help in the shape of Daegan - a very sexy older man who works as an escort and just so happens to be Harrison’s Dad.
The book follows a learning curve for all three of the main characters as they learn not only about themselves but about the lies and deceit that have affected their previous relationships with each other.
One of the main things this book dealt with was shame around kink. Not shaming others but shaming themselves because they were too afraid that their wants were wrong which led to them having an unfulfilled sex life, had they communicated properly both Brooke and Harrison would have learnt that they like it dark, dirty and rough and that sweet and vanilla doesn’t work for either of them.
At times it did seem like both male main characters may take things too far when they were acting out of anger rather than pure passion even though the scenes were enjoyable for all parties involved and the reader too but I think Layla did a fantastic job of towing the line between rough sex and abuse. The way she switched through multiple POVs of the characters really helped get a sense of their thoughts and emotions too because their actions didn’t always match with their emotions this was especially important when it came to Harrison because he’d been so sure his Dad didn’t love him at all so to then find out he was involved with the love of his life and that his Dad did love him was a real emotional rollercoaster for him.

Setting: Contemporary/present time in New Zealand at Kingswood College.
Trope: Forbidden. Boyfriend's dad. Estranged parent.
Main characters:
1. Brooke Ellis, heroine, a wealthy 18-year-old senior high school student who has recently received her multi million dollar inheritance.
2. Harrison Powell, hero, a 18-year-old high school senior.
3. Daegan Powell, a 36-year-old male stripper and escort to both women and men and the estranged father to Harrison.
4. Alicia, Brooke's stepmother.
5. Gwyn, Harrison's mother and Daegan's ex-girlfriend.
The writing is okay; however, the three person POV storyline drags due to repetition, excessive descriptions of places and things and internal character dialogues. The scharacters are dull, uninteresting and behave in nonsensical ways. Brooke and Harrison are in what the author describes as a loving committed relationship with one caveat, Harrison is too gentle and caring in his love making. This leaves Brooke sexually frustrated and she fails to orgasm because she wants to be demeaned, dominated and man handled. She doesn't let Harrison know what she likes for some unnamed reason then out of the blue, Brooke's stepmother gives Harrison a video of Brooke seemingly have sex with the family cook. Brooke and Harrison breakup. Unbeknownst to Daegan, Brooke hires him a sexual consultant/lover and to humiliate Harrison for dumping her, she insist that Daegan escort her their senior prom. Drama abounds in this story due the dysfunctional family life of Harrison and Brooke and due to their failure to communicate. I didn't care about any of the characters except Harrison. He deserved better than Brooke and his father and the trio living and sleeping together.

This is a dark romance so always check trigger warnings before reading. Now that we got that out the way let me tell you about this book. Harrison the ex-boyfriend is afraid of hurting her not really knowing that she actually likes it a bit rougher and when he starts bullying her OMG He takes it to a whole new level. It's clear to read that those two really do love eachother. Even tho they really do hurt eachother. The moment he finally lets his inner beast out, i just fell in love with him. I understand where's he's coming from because he loves her he didn't want to hurt her but he wasn't being himself, not completely and that's the only way to love and be loved, by being yourself. So when daddy comes on the scene oh man, he teaches them both so many amazing things about themselves and what they like. The amount of times i gasped and reread scenes in this book are... I can't even tell you. I freaking loved it. Daddy dearest really knows his job and takes it very serious, if you know what i mean.
The chemistry between Harrison and Brooke is amazing, the chemistry between Daegan and Brooke is amazing but the chemistry when all three are together WOW just wow, i could literally feel it.

This was my first time reading this Author. I have seen her recommended in several groups and have always been fond of her book covers.
Brooke and Harrison have been dating a few years and while on a visit home Harrison suddenly breaks up with her. Brooke is confused and hurt. She doesn’t understand what happened.
Back at school Harrison says some hurtful words to her that send her into a spiral. Prom is coming and she wants to make him pay for hurting her. She knows a dark, dirty secret of Harrison’s family. She’s utilizes that knowledge to hire his escort of a father Daegan to teach her and be her date.
This was a pretty fast paced story. Harrison was young and fell gullible to to the lies that were told to him. He reacted before he knew what he was doing. He regrets treating her like that in front of the school but still has to maintain his image.
It was interesting to see the characters grow into their relationship together. Father and son were smitten with Brooke and was ready to fight for her. She loved them both and wanted them both. To see where they all transition to be a throuple and grow made for an interesting read.
This was my first time reading this Author. I have seen her recommended in several groups and have always been fond of her book covers.
Brooke and Harrison have been dating a few years and while on a visit home Harrison suddenly breaks up with her. Brooke is confused and hurt. She doesn’t understand what happened.
Back at school Harrison says some hurtful words to her that send her into a spiral. Prom is coming and she wants to make him pay for hurting her. She knows a dark, dirty secret of Harrison’s family. She’s utilizes that knowledge to hire his escort of a father Daegan to teach her and be her date.
This was a pretty fast paced story. Harrison was young and fell gullible to to the lies that were told to him. He reacted before he knew what he was doing. He regrets treating her like that in front of the school but still has to maintain his image.
It was interesting to see the characters grow into their relationship together. Father and son were smitten with Brooke and was ready to fight for her. She loved them both and wanted them both. To see where they all transition to be a throuple and grow made for an interesting read.

Wow - the twist I didn’t know that I needed. Brook has only been with one boy and when Harrison abruptly breaks up with her and then calls into question her sexual validity Brook decides to take it into her own hands. She concocts a plan to hire a Harrison’s Dad (who is the hired help of this story) to help her prove Harrison wrong - but without telling Daegan the twist of her being his sons ex. Daegan falls hard for Brook and along the way helps her unlock her sexual desires and needs. When prom comes up Brook asks Daegan to go - and this is when both Daegan and Harrison watch her plan unfold. For Harrison seeing his dad with Brook ignites the fire within him and finally he stops, treating her like a princess and gives her the roughness she desires she needs and craves. On his mission to win her back. Brooke discloses that she doesn’t want to give up the relationship with his dad. Now, all three need to decide how their future looks and how this relationship is going to work. It’s a fast paced easy spicy read.

I think one of the biggest aspects of this book is to not shame any kinks. Not just shaming other people’s kinks but even your own. You cannot help what turns you on.
The world building and character development done by Layla Simon is great. She was able to write in so many POVs, yet it still flowed. This book went from an everyday romance to a forbidden romance, to a dark and twisty romance. I was here for all of it. The darker this story got the more I loved it. I can easily picture the cover being Daegan.

So creative, original, and full of spice! Harrison breaks up with Brooke because he has a video of her cheating. When he increases his cruelness to her slamming how she was in bed, she decided she needed a second opinion. She finds his dad on an escort app and books him.
Over the course of the book, I couldn’t help but see how the guys fell in love with Brooke. Not to mention, I was head over heels for Deagan right away! He is so confident, sexy, attentive, and alpha that I was there for it. Harrison picked up what Brooke needed a little late, but then he flew. The sparks between them burned up the pages.
This is rough sex, not much of the gentleness. But this story is unique and fun to see come alive on the pages. I can’t wait to read more!

Absolutely not. I cannot stress that enough. Honestly bar the very early client scenes, 90% of this book gave me the complete ick. I spent most of it feeling bad for Harrison whilst also being really annoyed he didn't just talk to Brooke. It was like the miss-communication trope but on extreme steroids. By the end I kind of felt like Brooke didn't really deserve either of them. Also I know romance novels in general are unrealistic as standard, but expecting anyone to believe that Daegon is going to be into sharing a sexual relationship with his teenage son and not feel a bit gross is just all kinds of 🤮.....and the fact that they're teenagers just made it so much worse!!! Unless it's some crazy mafia RH I just cannot be into that 😂

This is my first book by this author and it was a great first impression. If you like spice, forbidden and taboo reads, this book is for you. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but…can I just say I’m obsessed with daddy Daegan 🥵 that man y’all. The way he is with Brooke and knows what she needs when she needs it. 🫠 There were so many twist and turns throughout the book I had no idea what was going to happen next. I couldn’t put the book down and stayed up til 3:30am finishing it🤣 I’m am so proud of Brooke she started out so scared and not speaking her mind or saying what she wanted to go in and standing her ground 👏🏻

Harrison was led to believe that Brooke betrayed him, and to heal his heart, he'll tell lies about her. This isn't helping, though, and he wants to do something to try to forgive her. His solution only brings out more confusion in the situation, though. Daegan, the hired help, is Harrison's dad.
Layla really brought the heat with this book. I could not put it down. I'll definitely be recommending and reading more from her.

Wow Wow 🤩. Where do I even begin?! I loved this book so much I wish I could erase from my memory and start again!!! I loved everything about this book. I loved Deacon can I just say he was my absolute favorite!!! Also Brooke wow she was an amazing main character and I loved how real and raw she got and how venerable she was how she didn’t know what real love was and how everyone just used her. I felt this more than most people realize about me. I feel so used and abandoned and abused by people that reading it was overwhelming and i times I cried my eyes out. I can’t wait to read by Layla!!! Y’all don’t walk run to get this book. If you have triggers please check before reading !!!

I saw this book on social media and put it on my TBR. When I started and saw the TWs, I realized this book was going to be quite different than I originally thought. I was intrigued enough to start reading it, then hooked so I had to finish it. Brooke is devastated when her boyfriend, Harrison, breaks up with her for no reason and humiliates her at school. She gets angry, while nursing the hurt, and hires his father, Daegan, to help her get better in the bedroom. What happens after is a rollercoaster of high highs and low lows. This was definitely a storyline different than any other I read. It is in the darker side.
