Rate this book
A collection of three intensely erotic gay novellas ― prepare yourself for a Wild Ride!

Ridden Hard

Jamie Desmond has lied about his ability to ride to land a film role, and now his lack of horsemanship has been exposed he's scared he'll be kicked off the set. Luckily, riding instructor Andrej is on hand to give him tuition - but dominant Andrej recognises Jamie's latent need to submit, and his lessons are about to show Jamie what it means to be ridden hard...

Stud To Go

Ben's broke. The firm he'd been working for in Amsterdam has gone bust, and his employment options are limited, to say the least. But quite how has he found himself working for an escort service that makes him sound more like a takeaway pizza than a hot date? And what will he do when his feelings for his favourite client - urbane, successful photographer Jeroen Storm - go beyond a pure business arrangement?

Layover

Flight attendant Cal knows he's dropped lucky, spending a 26-hour layover at a luxury resort on the beautiful island of Aruba. And that's before he meets Justin, the gorgeous and deliciously kinky resort manager. So when a tropical storm grounds the plane, and lets him spend more time in Justin's company, he's sure he's truly found paradise. But will his new-found happiness be snatched away when the time comes to return to England?

I am Rotherham’s foremost (okay, only) writer of quality erotica and erotic romance. Though I’m now based in London, family and football take me back North on a regular basis. Indeed, if you’re ever at a Rotherham United match (I know, what are the chances?) and you spot a small blonde with a large ‘London Millers’ flag, that’ll be me.

For twenty years, I worked on the UK edition of Forum magazine, for most of those years as editor. In that time, I built up the fiction side of the magazine, and was responsible for publishing the first stories by lots of now well-known and established erotic authors – most notably Portia da Costa and Lindsay Gordon, who was until recently Black Lace’s series editor.

However, I love writing even more than I love editing, and I’ve finally taken the plunge to write full-time. I’ve had stories published by Black Lace, Xcite Books, Cleis Press, Circlet Press, Mammoth, Ravenous Romance, Total-e-bound and more, and my collection of three gay erotic novellas, Wild Rides, will be coming out as a print book from Xcite in 2012. And I’m happy in my work…

The three stories in this book certainly do honor to the title – they are all, each in its different way, very wild ride. Unashamedly focusing on the sexual aspects of several new couples meeting, they each show a snapshot of the men’s lives and sexual exploits.

Ridden Hard

Fun, easy to read story about an actor who discovers a love of a bit of kink. Jamie is an actor who isn’t too worried about telling the exact truth – when in need of a new role to play, at least. His little ‘white lie’ about being able to ride a horse gets him into trouble, but this quickly turns out to be all for the best when Andrej, the guy in charge of the horses, takes charge of Jamie as well. While Jamie likes being the submissive partner, even learns to appreciate the odd spanking, he isn't a true submissive. He is very cute and adorably wide-eyed as he lets Andrej teach him about some of the more kinky aspects of sex. If you like a short story with a bit of hot sex, this is just right for you.

Stud to Go

Ben finds himself in a situation that is not exactly everyday: he works abroad when he loses his job. Most people would tuck tail and return to their home country, but Ben decides he likes it in Amsterdam and sticks it out. His solution, when the finances start getting too tight to be comfortable, is also slightly unusual: he becomes a male escort. I really liked his descriptions of the different clients and the meeting of the one man who is more ‘special’ than the others. If you like a story with some humor as well as hot sex, this one may be for you.

Layover

Layover is a fun and hot story giving us a glimpse into a flight attendant’s life. Cal is all about the fun and pleasure of exploring new things, and meeting new men, both in and out of bed. The exotic setting adds some great flavor and what he and Justin get up to during the tropical storm is extremely hot and entertaining. If you like hot stories in interesting locales and have always wondered what flight attendants get up to during their time off – this is your chance to find out what it might be like.

Whew! I think I need to fan myself after reading these stories . I read and reviewed Ridden Hard a while back for LRP and gave it 5 stars. So when I got a chance to read more by Coldwell I jumped at the chance. I always say I don’t like erotica, but I think I might have to rethink that when it comes to m/m romances. These three stories are over the top, throwing every possible sexual scenario at you in a very short amount of time. Ben, the lead character in Stud to Go manages to be involved in voyeurism, BDSM, ménage, masturbation and probably some others I forgot, with multiple people. In his defense, he was working as a male escort.

These stories worked for me because of how well developed and likable the characters are. Each story is told in the first person POV, which I am quite fond of. I immediately loved each lead character. They are good natured, funny and all around nice guys. Coldwell has a talent for writing wonderful characters and she will have you rooting for them and their HEA, which they all get I might add. The sex might be rough and crazy, but the romance behind all that is so strong and sweet it will leave you wanting more.

My favorite of the three was Stud to Go. I loved Ben and Jeroen. It is almost like a m/m version of Pretty Woman (for those who remember that one ). Layover was my least favorite of the three, but I still liked it! We are talking 5 stars vs 4 stars, but I didn’t feel the same connection between Cal and Justin as I did with the other two couples.

If you like m/m, HEA, and freaking hot sex, then you will love this collection
