Bring Your Inner Medium Out to Play
Can you actually use this book to help you communicate with spirits? Hard for me to say, but the book is logically organized. Introductory chapters discuss different types of spirits you might come in contact with, how to improve “the clairs,” how to do basics like grounding yourself or entering a trance, and how to use tools (e.g., pendulums and scrying mirrors). From there, the book progresses from talking about contacting ancestral or other dead relatives, spirit guides, and even angels and archangels. Most chapters have exercises that instruct you how to do specific things, like how to channel using a pendulum or automatic writing, or how to improve specific skills, like how to be more open to clairsentient or claircognizant messages. I was surprised at the first chapter’s list of the different types of spirits, from ones you would probably imagine, like deceased relatives or spirit guides, but also spirits aligned more with particular religions, like the fae, goetic demons, and the archangels. The entire book is an interesting read, to be sure. If you are interested in communicating with the spirit realm, you'll find many exercises and much food for thought in this book.

What I love about Mari Silva's books is that they are created with the content to be used, practical and easy to follow. That said it does not detract from the amount of content and information provided with a wide scope of sub-topics within a vast theme and this book is no exception as saying it simplifies the subject matter just makes it accessible and usable.
The book has a chapter dedicated to the various types of spirit communications with practices and exercises to follow. The book demystifies what for some is a skill for only a select few, but also helps you understand, prepare and worth reading to the end first to cover all options to prepare and protect yourself and then return to try out and experience to see where this wonderful connection could lead for you.
