This manga wasn't so much about the relationships between the men, as it was about the difficult relationships between gay men and that female friend who is crushing on one of them.

The main story in this compilation, "Words of Devotion," was the worst. The men treat each other horribly. They flirt with the same girl and tell each other they want to break up and stop living together, even when that's not true. A significant portion of the book was from the woman's perspective, and how she is in love with one of the men and denies to herself and everyone that they are gay. The whole thing was depressing and left a sour taste in my mouth.

"To the Ends of the Earth" is about a boy who is in love with his female friend's ex-boyfriend. He whines to the girl, then makes his confession to the guy, and they hook up while the female watches and then reminisces about how the one guy used to be hers. Awkward.

"Waiting for Spring" was frankly creepy. A spoiled rich boy has no friends, so he has his dad's thugs kidnap a beautiful boy from school and he keeps him chained up in his bedroom for his own pleasure. Rather than resent him, his prisoner pities him and then becomes his actual friend and lover, so the guy lets him go and they continue their weird relationship.

Then there's one decent mini-story at the end, "Words of Devotion: Sho-Kun." A Japanese college student flies to America to see his boyfriend, who proposes. That's pretty much the whole story, but it was the only decent one, the only one that didn't make the relationship between the men out to be something shameful. But it wasn't good enough that I would recommend the whole book.

Just stay far far far away from this one. The art is horrendous, the stories are gross and full of a bunch of kidnappers, rapists and pedophiles. I know it was 2000 but seriously? They chose to translate and distribute this 8 years later to NA?

3.5, like this series, two guys who are finding their way in the relationship but are not out to everyone. They just want to spend time with each other.
