God of Wonders. Explore the wonders of God's creation with biologist David A. Steen, and discover the intricacies of things we usually take for granted. Are you ready to expierence an overwhelming sense of awe? God's creative genius is simply breathtaking.
You have to admire Steen for exploring 365 observations about nature and relating those to the Bible; that's already an impressive feat! Yet he manages to exceed that sheer numerical accomplishment by selecting 365 intriguing, fascinating natural phenomena and conceptually dissecting them to find their spiritual implications. This interesting devotional journey will help you appreciate not only nature more but the Bible as well - along with becoming better acquainted with the Author of both.
I really enjoyed the topics the author chose each day. We really do love in an amazing world of minute complexities that make living things live. The Bible verses tied in nicely with the topics. The mini meditations at the end of each article were sometimes a bit forced or cheesy to me and may not be needed.
Love reading this book every day! Makes you stop and focus on every detail of the world God created, from every detail on a butterfly’s wings to how things work. How truly smart our God is. And yet he gives all of us free will to make our own decisions!
The only reason I rated this 4.5 is because there was one little thing that I'm not sure I agree with. I can't quite remember what it was, but that's the only reason. It's an extremely interesting book, with new updates from the scientific world that point to God's sovereignty and the truth of the Bible. If you want a daily devotional that stands behind scientific facts which point to God as the Creator, then I definitely recommend this to you.
I enjoyed this book. We read it for family devotion time. It tells all about God's creation, plants, the human body, animals, astronomy etc. there are some HUGE words in this but it was awesome. We learned a lot.
