Collection of stories written by Nobel laureates in literature. The stories published are not necessarily the authors' Nobel winning publication.
A good collection, really well written taking our imagination to new heights, some describing landscapes, some emotions providing an extra layer of depth to each dialogue. Personally I felt the stories on poverty from European writers new and interesting, especially since in my generation, we have only known, from our part of the world, Europe as a developed nation - beautiful countryside, clean streets, well-mannered people and high standard of living. So, it was novel to read about peasants, poverty, rebelliousness, the wretchedness etc. accompanying it weaved in the stories, of a time before the 1930s.
Recommended reading for the language (hats off to the translators), subjectivity, imagination, much needed for a population today that is increasingly dependent on bots for everything and anything creative!!
