The head Bishop of the Vatican sets a trap for Deshwitat with deadly results. Remi believes that Deshwitat is dead, and celebrates but her happines is short lived as she contemplates the future and wonders how she will rescue her father without him.
Desh heads to the Vatican to learn light magic, he leaves his companions and follows dogmatic priest Bernard into a trap that will likely kill him.
This isn't as interesting as the previous instalment, there's less back story, character development and less happens. The whole volume deals with one drawn out fight in the Vatican between Desh and the priests. Despite how slow this is the actual story is pretty exciting and the artwork continues to improve volume by volume, becoming less derivative and coming into its own. The series is starting to to take on epic qualities. It's no Hellsing, but fans will enjoy it I'm sure. Still suffers from stupid names but the characters are starting to grab my interest and as already mentioned, the artwork's rather nice. Has potential.
Part of the new wave of manhwa (Korean manga) the 'Rebirth' series catalogues the story of a 17th century vampire named Deshwitat L. Rudbich, who has been released from 300 years of stasis by his enemy, the evil sorcerer Kalutika Maybus.
Volume Four sees Deshwitat ambushed and battling for his life within the Vatican by the crazed Bishop Bernard who seeks to destroy Deshwitat (even if it means hastening the destruction of the world and all life on it), as Deshwitat's companions Millenear, Remi, Rett, and Baryun rush to locate and save him.
