This is the story of an evil and violent woman, who nearly destroys the lives of those around her. The West family were affluent and had three daughters. But from childhood, Honoria cast a pall of fear and suspicion over the family. Violent and unpleasant things happened and were dismissed as accidents, but soon her parents became alarmed.
Ruth Hamilton was one of North West England's most popular writers. I first worried that this was going to be a book for women, but l read it anyway, and what a read it turned out to be. Very fast paced, beautifully written, with a great storyline. It has something for everyone, ups, downs, laughs, romance, deviousness, murders, bravery, cover ups, the whole kitchen sink. Well worth 5 stars and one of the best novels I've read. Many congratulations posthumously to the author.
