Written by author, John Davis, Extreme Pursuit is a great book for parents of teenage boys. Davis provides great practical, everyday advice for parents to better communicate and understand their sons. John feels the important thing is to really know your son and to be actively involved in all aspects of his life and to relentlessly engage him where he is instead of waiting for him to approach you with a problem.

Simple examples of dealing with your son help remarkably well: the idea of talking to your son shoulder-to-shoulder vs. face-to-face works!

John Davis is a psychotherapist that specializes in working with teen boys. He takes these young guys on extreme challenges (recently climbing the tallest mountain in Europe) to engage them both physically and mentally in a program called 2Xtreme. It works!

The book intro sold me before I even read John's chapters. It was written by a fellow psychologist who had problems with her own son.

Best book I've ever read on raising a teen boy. Really helped me understand my son's perspective. This book has changed how I think about parenting - and has helped me mend my overly authoritarian ways.
