Writing By The Book: 101 devotionals that encourage and equip writers to write well

The fundamentals of good writing are woven into scripture. Biblical truths provide the cornerstone for our lives. That includes our writing lives.

These 101 devotionals combine the best “by the book” practices in the writing profession with God’s writing guidelines in scripture to encourage and equip writers to write by The Book – God’s book.

Each devotional includes a scripture, and illustration from the writing world, a summary truth to equip you in your writing journey, and a prayer you can use to apply the principle to your writing life.

Whether you write as part of your job, as a freelancer or blogger, as part of your day-to-day life, or simply for fun – you can apply the truths of these devotionals to become a stronger, more empowered writer who inspires others with your words.

Helpful and inspiring

I have read this author's blog for a while and found it very helpful.
This book, along with another of hers, Writing Devotions That Stick, have been great additions to my stash of writer's training and inspiration. This one, advice inside of devotions, is the perfect combination for helping to encourage, advise, and remind me why I write. Writing can be hard some days, and I love turning to books like this to get a little encouragement and feel a little better prepared to keep writing. This is a book I will refer to often.

Inspiring devotionals

This book of short devotionals for writers is also a fine example of how to write devotionals. I enjoyed reading a chapter on days I planned to write. I highly recommend it for Christian writers.
